So I got paged out last night to fly a trip at 3AM.. Pretty tired and as we are flying eastbound toward RDU the sun starts coming up and my FO says - "what is that?" I look on the horizon and there is this odd shadow line that is being projected from the horizon line up into the sky. All I could think of in my mind was: "LOD problem with our King Air..gonna have to turn off the shadows.." BeachAV8R -

Ah..OK. That makes things a bit more complicated then. I suppose it's not as easy as just moving the saved games data, installing the update, and then moving the saved game data back. I'd assume that wouldn't work since I'd be overwrting the new North Atlantic changes to the saved games folder. Hmm.. LOL..I look at my modded game as sort of a house of cards. Right now I have it set just right..and prior to each mod I back up the whole saved game folder in case I screw something up and need to revert. Kind of a hassle, but better than having to rebuild the tower of cards each time I make a change. I guess now is a good time to ask the question if there is a utility that can install then roll back a mod if one doesn't like it? BeachAV8R -

That makes sense. But if I extracted Thirdwire .ini files to my /USER/SAVEGAME directory to mod them, then I don't really need to worry about NA reverting those CAT files right..since the mod folder preempt the Thirdwire files? (I think that's right right?) As for the RAZBAM A-6's..yes, I'd could just re-install those. Guess I should have just done the whole install first, then started modding..but I'm obtuse that way.. Yeah..that's exactly what it was..an over the horizon contrail that had a shadow being projected to our horizon line. Pretty cool to think that plane was probably 4 or 5 hundred miles away likely to cast that kind of shadow... -

Overall I'm very happy with the A-6 cockpit and 3D model. I paid the full price of $16 and I see some history posts that show they once had a sale for $5 for all the titles on their site - and that would have been a really good deal. I sent TK an e-mail yesterday telling him that he should release an A-6 DLC...he'd make a killing on it. BeachAV8R -

Curious if there has been update on this - I purchased the RAZBAM A-6 the other day and am definitely seeing the "tractor beam" shadow issue. Would love to see an updated LOD that eliminates it.. Until then - is there a workaround for getting rid of the tractor beam or is it something we just have to live with? ...because besides that little shadow artifact..the model is beautiful..! Ah..I seem to have found my smoke. I don't know why though.. Messed around with adding some weapons pack and changing the dates for the availability of the TIALD and went to fly and I have black smoke. Better to be lucky than good I guess..<G> BeachAV8R -

Hmm..no, I don't think it was anything related to the afterburner effect.. I swear it was some sort of particle effect file or something..but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. I was hoping it was the file attachment mentioned in THIS POST..but I've put it in my EFFECTS folder but it doesn't appear to be working. Perhaps something with the Thirdwire updates over the past couple of years has changed something that made in ineffective... BeachAV8R -

Hello again Folks.. I've once again been bitten by the bug and have spent the past 24 hours diving into mods to get up and running. I'm <-> this close to having a perfect install, but I'm running up against a little bugger of a problem that I can't figure out. I'm using the RAZBAM A-6 (payware) in my SF2V install and have built up my mods to include Green Hell, SFV2 Air/Ground War Expansion, and a few others. Everything is working perfectly except for a single file that seems to be corrupting the RAZBAM A-6 cockpit graphics. Yes - the dreaded FLIGHTENGINE.INI file. I'm guessing it is one that was included with one of the mods or something, but it is definitely the culprit. If I delete the file I get a crystal clear A-6 cockpit, but if I put it back in I get a blurry mess. So I'm wondering if I need it - and if I do, if anyone has an idea of what I need to change to get it to work properly.
