  1. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Ah well, I choose to shun reality for this one.... Introducing 2nd Lt Monty Python. A young 6 foot-plus chap recently graduated from Oxford College who walks with a peculiar gait. Some might call it a 'silly walk'. Anyhow, young Monty is determined to beat Von Richthofen at his own game, and has formed his own one-man 'flying circus'. No doubt he will soon perish but we'll try to fit in a few mission reports with fairly obvious Monty Python sketch themes before his inevitable demise :)
  2. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

That's my birthday! Well, a few years later (only a few).
  3. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

    Lofty! Welcome back :)
  4. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Nice one Rick, thanks for organizing. Sounds like the perfect thing to celebrate the new BHH2 :) Count me in. Here's hoping the SE5A engine doesn't fail quite so often as it did in my last career using it
  5. WOFF Mods available

Check the readme files with the mods. They should clarify. I haven’t reinstalled them myself since PE but I think there is a step where it’s expected to overwrite some files. Can’t remember exactly.
  6. Catch, you could try assigning a button on your stick to the TrackIR 'reset view' (using the TrackIR app). Then, from inside your cockpit, lean to the opposite side of your gunsight, but at the same height and distance from center (think of it like a mirror), then hit the reset button. A bit of trial and error should get you close to what you want.
  7. Interesting stuff Redwolf, thanks. I'm glad you mentioned how much improved the stuttering appears to be. I wasn't feeling brave enough to do that. I'm still suffering post traumatic tweaking disorder from trying to get PE to run as smoothly as possible but this new version is running beautifully out of the box for me. I'm going to resist the temptation to start messing with older mods and just play it with stock settings. I don't know what magic OBD has worked. Per Polovski's post, they have an improved (more granular?) LOD scheme for rendering far away aircraft and scenery, so perhaps that's making the difference. So far I'm seeing no real performance hit with the new version, but I am seeing improved smoothness. Didn't have to change any TrackIR settings either. This thing's awesome!!
  8. Worth every penny. It's fantastic. Congrats OBD!
  9. or play with cars instead :)
  10. WAAAAAHHHH!!! It's NOT FAIR!!!!!!! Hellshade has got all the aeroplanes and he WON'T LET ANYONE ELSE PPLAY WITH THEM!!!!! (flings keyboard at computer monitor) ...I did warn you :)
  11. I suspect the only thing that's a joke is 2Checkout's operations. That said, it is Easter Monday, a public holiday for some, so maybe I'm being harsh. I don't think OBD would make an April Fools around this. That would be in poor taste and Winder did seem pretty clear that he's done his bit already. An update would be nice though. Meantime, back to iRacing.
  12. Well this is disappointing. If I see another set of screenies from Todd before this thing gets released I might just throw something (like a toddler tantrum) :)
  13. I'm kind of hoping that this may yet turn out to be an "April Fools", but I will appreciate not ending up biting my nails off completely over the weekend if it doesn't turn up today :)
  14. Welcome!

well you and I are here Bob, so I guess it must be :)
  15. Welcome!

Nice forum looking forward to flying BH&H in the imminent future. Screenshots look incredible Hellshade, thanks!
  16. CA-WW1 - the Roland Walfisch

Well, your mission reports were so compelling, and the screen captures for WOFF so impressive, that I went and bought the thing. I'm loving the immersion and the beautiful experience of it all, but in a way, I wish it was more difficult to fly. I've been playing RoF for about six months now, and although I'm still a noob, I have really enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment, especially battling with the earlier planes and getting them into the air and back down again in one piece. Now that I'm flying missions and getting the occasional victory, it feels very satisfying :) WOFF 2 and RoF morphed together would be perfect :) Let's see what RoF comes up with in the single player department next year. Cheers, and keep those mission reports coming! H
