  2. Well, It Depends........ Usually, The Unit would be assigned a "Callsign" when the Squadron is formed.... Like MrGoTime and Daddyairplanes have stated, They usually falls around the Units Moniker. Such as My old Unit.....It was Bee 01, 02.......ect. The Units Mascot is a BumbleBee. Now if one was in another Aircraft, But didn't know the Callsign, He would use the TailCode to communicate. Again, like 331, It would be Victor Lima 01, 02, 03....ect. VMA-331's Tailcode is VL. Now in Country, All Bets are off.........The Units are assigned "Callsigns" from the overall Command....... I'll use Vietnam for example. When a Unit went "Feet Dry" they were given a new "Callsign" in Country......... In the Case of Vietnam. They came from PAC. Pacific Air Command USAF. They had overall Command of Air Assets in Country. Here's some Examples of Marine "Callsigns" from Vietnam........ BAT VMFA-115 Normally Eagle Basketball VMGR-152 Sumos Circumference 1st Mar Div O-1 doesn't exist anymore Condole H&MS-13 Sumos of a different Flavor Cowpoke VMO-2 Pony Deadlock VMO-2 UH-1 Doesn't exist Fingerprint VMO-6 Ditto Hellborne VMA-211,311,121,223 Avenger,Cat,Pawn,Dawg Hostage VMO-2 Pony Indian Country VMF(AW)-235 Bozo Klondike VMO-6 Not around anymore LoveBug ----- LoveBug was the Callsign of the Sit-Rep F-4 out of Chu Lai. Oakgrove VMO-3 Later to become HMLA-269. Was assigned Scarface and keeps it to this Day. Pigment VMCJ-1 Eagle Stood Down in 1975. Playboy H&MS-11 Hustler Ringneck Da Nang's Sit-Rep F-4's Seaworthly VMO-6 There ain't none anymore. Spook VMFA-314 Knight Trojan Queen VMA(AW)-533 Hawks Castor Oil VMFA-542 Tiger They are a AV-8B Squadron now. WheelChair VRC-50 ? Depends now. They are the Navy's C-2 Det. Now they would revert back to their original "Callsign" when they went "Feet Wet" leaving Country. Much like how "Air Force One" uses it's Callsign when the President is aboard and is not aboard. Now the Overall Command might assign a Special "Callsign" for the purpose of Special Operations or Special Mission. For Example.....We've all heard of this one.....   3. You go Wrench. Mue, Wrench has got the .INI Dance down to a Science. I was about to chime in but Wrench beat Me to it. What He has told You is the "Bottom Line" as far as Editting the .INI's of the Terrain. Wrench won't tell You wrong........... Mue, As for Me, Comming from a Member that has been in this Community for going on 12 plus Years now, I can tell You for a Fact........... This is the most important Tool You'll ever do for this Community. Though Your .LOD Viewer is Excellent, This Tool in the long run, Will be the most important Tool You'll ever produce. For going on 12 Years now Members like Me, Wrench, Eburger , Gephard and others Target Placement Types, Have been using Graph Paper, Pencil and going in and out of Game to make the slightest adjustments. Always, "In and Out of Game". Using the HUD.ini as a sort of Object Placement tool in the Meantime. Very Time Consumming and can lead to a Man pulling his or her Hair out before it's all done. I wishing You the best on this. Once done, I'll be in Line as a Customer. I've been waiting on such a Tool since 2002. I want to personally Thank You for taking this on. It's been loong in comming and I'm glad somebody finally sat down and did something about it. I offer my Experience of the Sim to You. If You have some Questions regarding the Game, You can contact Me via PM. But by the looks of it, You are in goods hands and the People here will bend over backwards to help You.   5. Looks to Me as the ADD-4. It has the "Stop" which is the "-" Button and the "Record", the ">" Button. On a ADD-5 has the "Hud" or "HDD" which records the Hud View with it's Information.........Check Me, But I'm pretty sure that's it. But it's the Radio UHF or all Phantoms other than that. The Radios changed as time went. I think the last was a updated Rockwell Unit. Doh! Nevermind, You found it up top. Just goes to show You how blind I'm getting..........Also ichin' to play a round of Golf.
  6. Part of the AN/ADD-4/5 IRS System Package for "RF" Phantoms and F-4's that can carry a Recon Pod. The film could be developed in flight and film cassettes could be ejected at low altitude so that ground commanders could get aerial intelligence as rapidly as possible. Backseater has one too in the USAF/USMC RF Phantoms. Phantoms that run "Pods", have just one Panel up front. The Cassettes are High Viz Orange so they can be seen...... 331KillerBee

  8. I had the beginnings of One that I currently can't find..... I did the .ini dance for it and brought it up. Was doing a set of Templetes for it...........Can't find it to save My life. If I find it, I'll send You what I've got. I had the IRF Probe visible in the Cockpit View OK, And made it a Weapons Pylon in the Data.INI. I added it in the Loadout.ini as just for the Long Range Missions like the real "C". It was removable in real life. Deacon211, A former Harrier Pilot did that FM for the "C" and I think he did one for the old "A" too. VMA-542 Tigers operated the "C" from around 1978 till getting "B's" in the mid 80's. The "C" added the IRF Probe and RWR. The blisters for the "C" is just like the "B". with two Blisters in the Tail Stinger and one on each Wing Tip. Also the Recon Camera of the "A" was removed in the "C's". Eventually, All Cameras were removed from both "A" and "C" Models. Like I said Allen, If I can find this Stuff, It's Yours. But anyway.......The Answer to Your Question is No, I don't think the "C" has been done.... Go For It. 331KillerBee

  13. I knew You were Stary........... As for Me. If the Bottom fell out on the StrikeFighters Line on the Desktop side of the House, My Life is not going to come to and End. Wishes and Wants are just that. Wishes and Wants....... Does it mean I'll stop doing what I'm doing in this Sim? By Stopping development, Does it make Me loose My Enjoyment for or within it?   17. Got a Ejection Key in the Control.ini. It's tied to ESC for quit Game right now. But there's Your "MANUAL" method. I don't see why the Pilot couldn't have at least one Animation for it's .LOD like Weapons other than Head Shake. As far as seat separation, I'd think it would be like a SA-2 loosing it's Booster. As Far as Canopy goes, There's a Entry for Hit Boxes for the Interior. I would think it'd be tied to it. In the Old Days in SFP1, We "Old Timers" were talking Carriers. It got to the Point that People started to think that it wasn't possible. Then BAM! WOV with working Carriers. Then People started talking about having Task Forces, Again, BAM! SF2North Atlantic. As far a Multiplayer goes, When WOE came out, It was playable with a lot of limitations. I think that's why TK is investing his time in Portable Apps. I think what He learns there would apply in a Multiplayer Game in the Future. Multiplayer would be the Cherry on Top after He's got the Game where He wants it or a whole Title of it's own. Just My guess. Like the Old Days, The Subjects I hear the Most is Ejections and IFR these Days. By reading this .DLL, Make Me think that He's listening at least. But I can tell You this, Like the other additions, It'll come in TK's Time, Not ours. As a Suggestion. Instead of asking the "TK can We Have This" Question. Start Posting how You would implement the Mod or Addition if You were writing the Program. He reads these things, You know. Just a Suggestion........ 331KillerBee

  19. FAE's (Fuel Air Explosive) were still in the Inventory with the Navy in 1992 when I left the USMC. They were used on Soft Targets like "Enemy Troops in Area" and Clearing LZ's. Was good on Many Targets except Solid Structures like something made of dense Concrete. The FAE was more effective than Fire Bombs like the Mk.77. They did their work with Concussion. The Explosive Mass of such a small Weapon was incredible. We had a Training Movie called "The Monkey Movie". PETA got wind of it and had the DOD ban it. Well, Copies still floated around. What it was, was a Test conducted be the Manufacturer of the Weapon where they placed Lab Monkeys in High Chair within 150 feet in a Circle of the Test Target Zone. They dropped a FAE dead center of the Target. What I saw was Gory, Scary and Impressive. " Monkey Body Parts flying all over the place." Med Cruse 1976. 231 had just set the World Record for "Turn around Times". Semper Fi! 331KillerBee P.S. It was actually 16 Aircraft. Two were down as "Hangar Queens". The Squadron had 24 Aircraft as a whole. "Det.A" as it was called. sent 16 aircraft with the remaining Aircraft staying at Cherry Point as "Det.B".

  23. Guys, This is an Example of what I've found recently looking at some .dll's. It's serves as an example to Me that He'll return to the Desktop Community before long. As many of You all "Old Salts" Know that this has happened before over the last 12 Years only to have TK come back with a Patch or New Addition. Just look at the Dates on Patches from SFP1 thru SF2 Jul 2013. Guy's You've got to remember, This Community is what got TK to the Position he is at. (Also free Advertisement.) I don't think He'll forget the Community that got Him there. You can't blame the Guy for branching out to other Platforms and Formats to make More Money for his Company. That's just taking care of Your Company. Remember, This Engine is TK's Baby. He was using it for First FLight back in 1998-99 well before Strike Fighters Project 1.
