  1. EAW Multiplayer Questions

Hmmm, I was thinking earlier. That EAW from GOG/Steam doesn't have the Internet TCP/IP protocol, but only LAN support, so he may not want to go that route. :| The 3D Windower program is basic in comparison to the DXWnd Wrapper from ghotik, the one I've been using. Not sure if that old program will work on 10 properly either. I would do EAWPRO in the DxWND Wrapper with my settings profile I've provided or manually setup step by step according to my troubleshoot help doc. :)
  2. EAW Multiplayer Questions

....he's deep in reading , doing trial and error :)
  3. EAW Multiplayer Questions

Are you reviewing any old posts on the forums or reading my help site or anything else to get answers :( EAWPro is the work of VBH. It was developed in many different ways/different techniques. Its Fun to play, to see what he has worked on. I'm sure VBH can speak for him self if he's still around. You could try the old 1.28b, at least 1.28a. to see if there what you need. Research some things and come back to ask away. :)
  4. EAW 1.30 download?

Thanks for the info!! I have some notes I think from Jel too from maybe 2015 when I reentered into the game. https://eaw.neocities.org/codegroup-patches#130 Its pretty un organized , I think they are are good notes though however. Anyhow I did get all the 130 files in the right place on mediafire if you don't have them already. At least I think I got them right. I have not tested out the order of things fully, but wrote up install text.
  5. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

I forget the all the details I found out about how old games that don't use registry settings are prone to have their configuration and saved games moved to a data folder under the user account path on ones OS. But in Windows its the UAC setting as well the can block a save from the eaw.exe and nothing gets written to the HD.
  6. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

cool, thanks for that bit of info. For those having trouble, try installing (or make a portable versions of EAW) in a better location on your HD. Other than \program files.
  7. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

Crashing Campaign in GOG/Steam release: I have a theory, it maybe how the game gets installed, and how and where GOG-EAW saves the campaign files. I believe you need to be an administrator when running the game. The campaign files are saved in the games root folder and a saved games folder if I recall. Windows 10 may have a hard time with that, depending where one has the game installed. I prefer a 2nd drive or a location outside of the /program files sub folder on windows as the modern security on those windows kicks in and maybe blocking or rerouting the files when they are created to a user data location. This maybe interfering with the Gog and Steam releases. At the moment I don't recall where the gog eaw gets installed, or if you even have a choice where to put it.
  8. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

GOG is the setup or configuration that I guess retroism provided. Steam is basically the same thing, same files etc. But if you have bought both, then you can refund one of them I would think. Yeah TheBassman77, I would read my help site or skim it, because I could help you here, but It seems your too new to the game and how things are done. Stick around read and come back when your ready. ;) However, Damson, a youtuber used the default res and doubled it in the nglide wrapper program. This keeps the cockpit dash from being placed too close to your view, and you get to use the more detailed cockpits.
  9. EAW 1.30 download?

No doubt. I have a short list on what and the order of the archives that should be used. But its just too short to cover all the 130 addon/update archives. I may or may not get too it, depends how much hair pulling I want to do today or the coming days. :)
  10. EAW 1.30 download?

Thanks VBH.... I'm aware of the Sandbagger multi part stuff. I had to recombine much of it when building my file archives, that's not related to what I'm talking about. Those I think worked to recombine on win7 and win10 i think still, I think they where mostly windows command line usage, or dos batches, which case I may have used dosbox. The 130 archives I have are not from there. I forgot where and how I got it. Its in 7z self extracting and 7z zips. 130 was mostly jels project I guess. It appears to have a non-oaw setup for a custom frontend to configure and launch. Might have been near the first to use it. It looks like the 130 was mostly a test bed and has alot of patch updates for it.......
  11. EAW 1.30 download?

Here is the 1.2 to 1.30 Basic Setup https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3911dxp26qm15/game-game I won't right away, but I may eventually try to sort the 130 upgrades if I can figure it out and post them in the 130 folder......
  12. EAW 1.30 download?

Well I found the 1.30 Test release available from 11-25-2013. This is about 6 files/archives to go from v1.2. Then there's a bunch of un sorted updates and addons for it after that. I could combine it all, or at least try to get it right, considering there's over 20 archives. There does not appear to be a guide to update the 130 beyond the initial placement of the game.....
  13. EAW 1.30 download?

Alright, well the b version of 128 may actually be a 1.28d 1024 Glide 3 exe....I'll have to confirm it by installing a d version and replacing the exe first. Can you pm me your e-mail address, to send the 130to140 archive? EDIT: Never mind I uploaded it to the 140 folder. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1jopd2lcgp6cu/v140
  14. EAW 1.30 download?

Okay I found 130 (12to130) and 140 archives, but there are many of them, best to contact the code group, perhaps they have a single download of these old versions for you. I even found a 130to140 archive or two, but the 140 is an very early version/build of it.
  15. EAW 1.30 download?

I've found 130, but its in like 10 archives, and I'm not sure how they install to make a single game....if they even do that. I'll keep looking into it. You may want to contact someone at the code group forum or simhq UAW sub forum, they may have a much better understanding as they will have more old game archives then I. (Like I said, anything 130 and above your just going to want 160 as the leap up of the version numbering.) I have 140 somewhere , or one of its archives, not sure I have the last 140 or not. EDIT: Looks like I don't have a recent 1.40 archive at all. I also just ran into a 1.28b Glide 3 exe...I may post that last one here on combat ace dls. EDIT: Would you like to test this exe for me on Glide 3 Mode?
  16. EAW 1.30 download?

oh look, someone alive :) lol As far as 130, I think it was just a exe file, not sure if he ever released a public archive for it. I may have a copy of an archive of the 130, but I think anything 130 and above, you should just get the 160. Its more of the same modding features in the later builds. There defiantly wasn't any hardware support upgrades provided. The main reason for these updates is just if they contain gameplay upgrades. Why do you feel you need 130? (I'll look to see if I have some type of a 130 archive, if you really want it still):
  17. Drop tank in your face

I couldn't remember if the drop tanks did damaging properties in the default game? For some reason I always seem to fly through them un harmed...IDK, not sure. :P
  18. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

EAWPRO Will go over the v1.2GOG version easily, make a portable version first. Again you'll want to change wrappers and download the Profile Settings for EAWPRO.
  19. EAW120 goes into Windowed mode. Help?

My guess overall, is your using DX mode right? If your using the DxWnd Wrapper? (I'm Not sure how you use open glide with it.) Anyhow I believe I set the stock game so it's configured to run in a window. If you go to modify the settings , then go into the MAIN Tab in DxWnd, and un check "run in window". https://eaw.neocities.org/files-my-downloads.html For my preset DxWnd Wrapper settings. EDIT: Also on the VIDEO Tab click 8 BPP if using full screen. https://eaw.neocities.org/troubleshoot-wrappers.html For troubleshoot the wrappers.
  20. EAW120 goes into Windowed mode. Help?

I think if you reassign the mouse to something else it won't control the camera view. Never tried it.
  21. EAW120 goes into Windowed mode. Help?

In eaw.ini Glide Mode is DisplayDevice=0 1 and 2 are DX
  22. EAW120 goes into Windowed mode. Help?

Should be a setting in the OpenGLid.ini (open with notepad) I think its CreateWindow=0 or InitFullScreen=1 They are both toggles, 1 or 0. 1 for on. Make sure your using Glide Mode in the eaw.ini file too.
  23. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

What else can I tell you about the GOG version? You can update it with the un official code group 1.28 to 1.28a to 1.28b updates. Stopping at which everyone you prefer. I have them uploaded on CombatACE already. I believe they each have a readme with them to see what was fixed and added. You won't be able to use GOGs DX Wrapper anymore, so you'll want to DL the DxWnd Wrapper by ghotik.
  24. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

There are HUD FONTS available. They are larger and display bigger on the high resolution screens. (If you need the fonts let me know) However instead of using them, try setting EAWv1.2GOG eaw.ini to maybe 800x600 or keep it at default, 640x480, then set GOGs DirectX Wrapper Display setting double of your eaw.ini res settings. This will give decent looking fonts on the higher res wrapper setting. Virtually upscaling. the flight screens etc..... Oh, don't forget to turn off the Aspect Setting. Other wise you have a window with black columns in it, on either side of the game screen.
  25. Which EAW Files Should I Post?

Anything else needed on CombatACE Downloads? Any idea is helpful.
