Authentic Hebrew voices or accents for WoI
sparkomatic replied to hangtime8705's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
you mean Israelis dont sound like they are from Arkansas? actually you would not need to replace every thing...and it would be an awesome opportunity to replace some of the incorrect comm used in WOI as well... Plus, it has already been done in another form...there was a Russian conversion a while back that was quite awesome...and they didnt make any where near 1,700 files... -
yep...again, grab one from another project and then install it to your material library...then label the canopy with that material...
-
- use a tga assigned as a material...so you make the canopy then select material...the material chosen is the key...one could find a suitable one lurking in the cockpit files* [canopy.tga]...add that to your material library in 3ds max, then apply to the canopy...poof - as was taught to me since I had the same issue - does this help? * (after securing permission or selecting one of the open mods)

Su-35BM WIP
sparkomatic replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
found this: One of the most noticeable differences from the Su-35 is that the canards have been removed (though they can be re-attached if the customer requests them, such as on the Su-30 series). This new airframe design reduces the aircraft's radar cross section. The aircraft's engines have also been improved to the AL-41F1As with three-dimensional thrust vectoring, and the air intakes are enlarged. A probe and drogue in-flight refueling system has been added as well. also assumed you have already seen this: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/wor...sia/su-35bm.htm -
are you trying to get something to not show up in the final visual model?

Help with av8 harrier
sparkomatic replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
- game does not specifically support that function (as far as I remember)...besides, it is far more practical to do a short-take off than a vertical jump... -
- that can be caused by the size of the textures for a given airplane...especially if you are using the legendary Sundowner's textures, they are not the default size...you can change that, and there is a post with how to do that somewhere - also, if you are using a highly modified WOx game with tons of add-ons, please remember TK didnt intend for that to be the case...so the game does what the game does based on the way it was designed...start cramming it full of a lot of different stuff and you can see where it is not happy...you might try a new install and then move over only the really great changes and a few planes...some of us have several installs...like for multi-player, for testing new stuff, for certain mods (some mods require a separate install all together like Tainted Cigar, so if you stuck that in with all your other mods, it may not be happy) - not saying this is the case and EVERY SINGLE PC IS DIFFERENT (so, for the rest of you, please dont start posting that you have 72 Tb of downloads and it works great...this is for him, not you)...just a thought and good luck! cheers

Canard real purpose in life....
sparkomatic replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
- the Berkoot is a special case...it was a maneuverability demonstrator essentially - the quick answer...canards make the front end of the plane stall before the wing stalls...while instantaneous direction delta is improved by essentially changing the moment arm, it makes the plane more stable because it reduces the chances of stalling the wing...which can be bad - yes I know about post-stall maneuvering...any airplane can post-stall maneuver...usually that is called falling out of the sky...some airplanes like the Berkoot and some Flankers are the exception for a very long explanation - and dont forget...3wire is a GAME...not a sim...while fun, dont use it to write your term paper - enter fast cargo to disagree with me -
- game my game performance isn't up to scratch and get's slower and slower is it affecting any other program? maybe just noticing it on this game, but it could be a PC-wide problem...anti-virus software does not catch everything...could be something more sinister lurking in the background, or could be nothing...computers are fun that way! cheers

- excellent find, MJ ! -
- funny you should mention that...I just replaced a GeForce 7600GS AGP 256 with a GeForce 7600GT AGP 512 MB...it is a noticeable difference between the GT and the GS, plus the 256 --> 512 jump also helped in 3wire games (dont know why, but I do know how to read fps) - and due to a very unfortunate incident with buy.com I now have 2 cards (one installed, one sitting in the original shipping container that is redundant to me and buy.com wont take back but I paid for both...buy.com didnt fill my order for like two months, I wrote to them told them to cancel it and ordered from tigerdirect.com...the same card arrived from Tigerdirect in like 4 days and the day after, which would be 62 days if you are following along, the buy.com one arrived...and the buy.com return policy is dated from when you ordered it, so they refused to accept it back even though it was completely their fault) for me, I have another AGP machine, but it is a 250watt Compaq and the GT requires a 325W or higher...since it is a Compaq one cannot upgrade the PSU (I tried, repeatedly) so the part is redundant. if you are interested, send the PM but back to your question, I personally like the card so far, and it is probably the last (for a while at least) AGP that nVidia is going to make which is why I went with it sure, people will jump on here and tell you that there are two generations of SLI cards way better, but I take it you, like myself, dont want to switch out the mo'bo' just yet and want an AGP option...after considerable research, it is the one that I chose hope this helps

sparkomatic replied to Wraith27's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
if not for the terrain, would one think that was LOMAC (or better)...looks phenomenal ! -
It is based on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MechWarrior:_Dark_Age and here are some of the books so far: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Battl...Dark_Age_novels Stackpole was the reason I started reading them, he is one of my favorites (from Star Wars also) Kind of always liked this genre, really enjoyed the PC games like 10 years ago Let me know what you think!
