  1. Dave, any chance this one is on your list? http://amcmuseum.org/exhibits_and_planes/f-101.html Dave, any chance this one is on your list? http://amcmuseum.org/exhibits_and_planes/f-101.html
  2. Thanks! Hate to be greedy, but this one is personal: http://amcmuseum.org/exhibits_and_planes/f-101.html
  3. Wow! Dels, amazing work and just representation of one of the all time "what ifs"...I personally feel about this airplane like Canadians feel about (sorry, aboot) the Arrow...dropped it in the install folder and wingman and I schwacked 4x Flankers in 9 seconds! Sweet! Has to be a sweet ride if my stoopid wingman takes a shot... The only thing I dont like about it is it did not come with a leather jacket...
  4. Patriots out

the "Aints"...you have to be kidding...they have missed more chances a squandered more opportunities...only reason the NFL allows them to keep their charter is so that all of that bad karma stays isolated...
  5. the "tube of pain"...think this will be a first for a combat flight sim?
  6. found in my loft !

...the Tornado version I had did not have a tan box...and I know that USNF came out later...
  7. found in my loft !

    - what, now mention of Jane's series? Or Tornado? Or a company called Orion? What about TFX?
  8. - count me in for NATO 2, 'nuff said...
  9. Happy Birthday Moonjumper aka Crusader

Otto has done amazing things...talk about turning lead into gold! And he also does the painstaking detail work like painting lines for HUDs and tweaking avionics files which is maddening to say the least (and those are tiny examples of his awesome contributions). Thanks for everything, MJ!
  10. 13 has been considered unlucky long before there was communism...despite the propaganda, communists are in fact human...
  11. I obviously have not flown a -21...but the book makes several references to "nothing could fly slower" and "treeing an F-14"...the contributors speak of nose authority even down to 70 knots... every airplane is dangerous...its how one uses it that makes the difference. I also enjoyed the discussion of the -23 and how much they hated it...
  12. - does it have the same voices? I have to tell you that WOI was a major disappointment for me since I have yet to meet an Israeli pilot with a southern US accent...and the callsigns didnot change either...obviously that did not have to change for SF2, but for WOI it kind of stung a bit. - I take it that it works in XP still?
  13. looking forward to this, having just read "Red Eagles", the FM on the -21 was quite a bit off...no one's fault as who had experience with the model? Now we have unclass first person source documents telling us exactly how the -21 could perform.
  14. - "Yeah it is really incredibly frustrating because these planes were bought and paid for by the American people, and the names were assigned by the Pentagon--if anyone owns the copyright on their names, its us, not the aircraft companies." - This isn't a bash Lockheed thread. Let's keep on the topic at hand.
  15. Americas Migs

    - It is a fantastic book, bar none. Though I found the "people side" very interesting... - It was cool from the aspect of employing the MiGs and how they learned Soviet tactics/procedures...particularly interesting was the scene where the -21 was ~70 Knots and fighting an F-14! - But if you are a casual reader or expecting an action movie, look elsewhere as this is much more an attempt to record the program than a trashy paperback novel
  16. Looks good... this just in: "Microsoft has been unsuccessful in weaning users from Windows XP and persuading them to upgrade to Windows Vista. As of the end of November, for example, Vista's market share was 20.5%, while XP's was three times greater, accounting for 66.3% of all computers that went online during the month." how bad does Vista suck if M$ has to admit that it sucks? have it, hate it, period...
  17. you can also edit the diameter allowed on the weapons station in the data file to get the AIM-4F/G to work
  18. - a Mya-4 Bison...oh...my...goodness...that is a long-standing desire to have that in this game...
  19. wow! Century Series are always a treat, but for me, this one is the all time monster Interceptor...my first boss in the USAF was a "one-oh-wonder" guy (also a double ugly and a couple of other war machines) and the stories he used to tell... thanks!
  20. Apologies if this was covered in a previous thread...but why is that now the MiG-21 the pilot is embedded in the seat or behind it? Noticed on the MiG21MF Cheers
  21. - and how else are we supposed to pay for Gripens?
  22. Touch My Body

how is that any different than every single episode of American Idol? Seriously...
  23. Lets see how far we've come

    - could we have a thread and not argue? - how about do the math...F-4 first flight=27 May 1958...and it is still in flying today...if you start the clock on Dec 17 1903 then roughly 55 years passed before the double ugly...and that legendary has been flying for 50 years (in some capacity) - in that same thought, the B-52 first chipped away at the ozone layer on 15 April 1952, so about 49 years after Kitty Hawk and has been flying for the 56 years past. - it is rather interesting to note that both of them have been flying for about half as long as modern powered flight - and better still the legendary DC-3 took off on 17 Dec 1935 and there are some still flying
