F-22 export possibilities
sparkomatic replied to Salamander67's topic in Military and General Aviation
whoa..."Israeli only export"...why dont you just spit on Japan and Korea (just to name two crucial allies)...I have no desire to turn this into a flame about Israel, but we have more allies than just that one that have also been extremely good customers over the years let's not forget Singapore, either -
awesome, good read!

F-22 export possibilities
sparkomatic replied to Salamander67's topic in Military and General Aviation
this is very interesting...but if the US is being "stingy" with F-35 secrets (essentially the F-16 v 2.0) then is it really time they will share the F-22 (think of it as F-15 v 2.0)? No doubt they will one day and both Japan and Israel would be the likely customers...but I do not think we are there yet -

rather stretches back to "realism, realism, realism" that for so many years has been spewed on this and other forums...people really do not want realism... you want to fill out forms? you want to get up at 0300? you want to spend every day studying in a vault? you want to wonder if that is a rash or "geasels"? you want to skip lunch, sweat, listen to some Intel guy studder through the same damn capes brief...again? you want to sit in 120 F heat flipping switches, circuit breakers, and staring at needles? How many of you do a control cross check before take off? How many of you use F6 to visually inspect the airplane before take off? How many of you have studied the radar capes of your pretend airplanes? How many of you taxi back after you land? How many of you land after a mission? How many of you write a letter to a virtual spouse after you loose a little digital wingman? How many of you know what an FCR failure is? How many of you know if that slight slick under the port wing is dew or hydraulic fluid? How many of you know the tire pressure of even one of these pretend airplanes? Know what an FCF is? Or why is is either the most boring or most exiting flight you can draw that day/night? How many know any of the launch parameters of any of the weapons you pretend to employ? Realism is more than a double edged sword...it is holding a weed-eater at the wrong end for someone trying to sell video games... cheers -

- kind of surprised to see this "unclass" - and how would you mimic helmet-cuing in this game? do you really want to open the seeker FOV that far in this game? -

Eh? None anywhere? So does MSFS or X-Plane not count? I disagree...besides, as pointed out, flying fast in a straight line in this game is not worth the sheer effort of getting a model into form to release to the ever-critical public...it would be like so many of the other planes already here for download, people download it, install it, fly it like three times, and then post that they want another one or that version block 32 is their very all time favorite... -

saw on the history channel that it looks like the B-29 cockpit because it IS the B-29 cockpit...they copied every single bolt, even the ones they did not understand, from a three ship that force landed -
just look at washington, dc...has the most strict gun control laws in the US (have to have the weapon disassembled)...and DC continually sets the bar higher for numbers of violet crimes...control does anything but control violence...not my opinion, it is readily available information...

"Because of the "You have to remove my rifle from my corpse's fingers" philosphy , that is why." -- SERIOUSLY? Do you really think that either of the gunmen are members of the NRA? Then I think that you have a demented view of reality...

Being an effective flight leader -- advice wanted

the most important thing about being a flight lead: dont screw up, period... -
just installed call of duty 4 on the PC...updated the 9.0C driver to Nov 2008...running a 7600 GT 512 Mb on a 3.4 Pentium 4 with 3Gb of Ram...runs CRYSIS just fine the "people" in the game have no textures, just all black...poured over google trying to find a solution as to yet no avail...and nvidia drivers are 163.75 and I tried the "latest" drives before you sell that song...for whatever reason something went really wrong in that the PC would not go past 4 colors or 800x600 resolution...had to delete the old drivers and re-install 163.75 but unless someone can prove that is the solution I really dont want to go that route again...and is patched to v1.6 cheers

I liked the original battlestar galatica finale...since it was not a "finale" intentionally and the show was just canceled...that just left it open for one's own imagination Seinfeld was lame also I thought...

ha! so just installed XPSP2 and XPSP3...seems to have helped but now I get that famous stuttering...that may be a tweak though or "slider" too ambitious...thanks! perhaps the stutter is caused by the "old" 7-series graphics card and it is happier when being vetted through that GX2? anyone have one of those? by the by, once again C.A has answers...I Googled like mad for a couple of hours then just posted here...

yeah...did that an told the nVidia site that it was a 7 series and it still gave me the wrong drivers...I do not put much faith in their filter process kind of like calling a brokerage house and getting "personal" financial advice...had a good friend who did that very job for a very well known company...she read the crap from a book like most Dell customer service people...except her book did not say "reboot" it said "buy x"...no kidding thanks, the DirectX version is the one released Nov 2008, do they have one more current? Good point about the SP3...had to reload my HDD a while back and seemed to have skipped that step since it is currently running SP1...

thanks, patched to v1.7 and that had no effect...when I read the readme for the patch (yes there is such a thing a few can read it, but I think there are people that can read Egyptian hieroglyphs than readme files) it didnt mention anything about texture issues. I was rather hoping they would not put this in this column since there seems like 8 people who read it but 30,000 read the pub...oh well... this particularly faithful PC still uses AGP technology, so going beyond a 7-series nvidia, as far as I can find, is a no-go...did they ever make an AGP 8-series? thanks for the inputs
