  1. Coming soon to an Air War near you...in about two days. We think the AC-130 will be one of the best aircraft in the game. The Spectre is from a basic model by Dels highly modified by Crab. The skin is by Sundowner. Pit by Crab and Diego (not quite done yet). Aircrew and little dudes by Diego and Crab. Formation and cargo bay lights by Eightlein. A new flight model that flies like a transport. The mission by the real 16th SOS and the 390th TFS. We will release our new helicopter flight models, missions that will challenge your ability to fly, think and react, and detail beyond anything you have seen yet. There will be missions that will make you duck and missions that will make you think. It has been our pleasure and obsession to present 100 real combat missions flown in the skies over Southeast Asia...as suggested by Bunyap to me over two years ago. This set will conclude what we call YAP1 and free us to complete preparations for YAP2. YAP2 will take WOV to the next level. Yankee Air Pirate is the dedicated work of Diego, Eightlein, Crab, Sundowner, and Deuces as well as PNT, Hntfxer, and Kesselbrut with gracious permissions from Dels, Bunyap, MontyCZ, Armourdave, and Zurawski. Objects supplied through the talent of Pasko, Hinchinbrooke, Dels and Razbam. Game engine invented by Third Wire. Financing by the unending loyalty and enthusiasm of our players. And, last, the real life stories of the men who fought in these machines. zerocinco
  2. No, YAP 2 will not "require" YAP 1. BTW, I was at Council Bluffs, IA visiting an old cop buddy and stopped by Offutt. I got a kick out of the "abandonded" missile silos. Especially since the perimeter fence still had the "deadly force" posted on it.
  3. YAP 1 and YAP 2 are WOV. Everything should be compatible. Some things will change that are beyond our knowledge right now because they have not been fully tested.
  4. Sorry, No. At this time YAP 1 will be available as is.
  5. Women in uniform...

    Removed this date.
  6. Mess with it too much and you may screw up your YAP mod, but, its your game. That is why we always strongly suggest a seperate install for YAP. Some things the "aliens" created dont mix well other "terra firma" items.
  7. {quote}Is Runway 9 the Area 51 of WoV/YAP? Yep.
  8. Thank You Dave for your professional and courteous reply. Seems like my handle is automatically associated with payware, so be it. Jim, payware was mentioned and I did say "personally" which is regarding my pre-payware freebie mods, regardless if I pulled them or not. Many are out there and have been built upon and modded, to which I have given consent to same in the past, so I knew who, what, where, when and why. Perhaps I should have made that clear. So I shall. Dave, please put me on the "to be notified" side of the chart regarding any of the freeware mods that have my "name-handle" on it. I do not give consent to use/mod anything I have personally developed, had a part in, or my "name-handle" attached to regarding any payware I may be associated with. That should clear things up.
  9. Personally I dissent until further notice.
  10. Spark, Put it this way. Before the YAP/FAC missions leave my HD, they are verified that the FACS mark the target. We go over and over this because we know they can/will be affected by known/unknowns. There is always uncertainty in WOV which is one of the great things about it. However, one example, if the FAC is supposed to hit the VC and the U.S. Army has already killed them, then he will go through dry. Pureblue, There are two missions in YAP 1-10 that feature the O-1E as FAC. I will not dispute that your FAC does not mark. Game gremlins can/will do as they wish. As we have progressed and discovered/learned more we have fine tuned our missions that feature a FAC and all of them do mark.
  11. in-flight refueling

Storm, You mean something like these?
  12. in-flight refueling

Mikeed, What do you mean by "hooked up"? Which mission would that be? Which AC?
  13. Gentlemen, I beg to differ. Are we talking AI birds? The O-1E FAC, F-100D, F-100F Misty FAC and F-4D NightOwl all mark targets in AI.
  14. Well Sir, exactly how do you "read" it? MTL makes a mutual complimentary statement, followed by an obviously bias inflamatory statement by another member which you choose to ignore, then you issue a verbal reprimand to me for asking for an explanation of said statement. No rules according to Hoyle?
  15. So the only thing about excellence is that its free?
  16. A few shots in no particular order of the RF-4C and RF-4B from Yankee Air Pirate Missions Cool Hand Luke and Khe Sanh Recon, related to YAP by the pilots that flew them. Skins by Sundowner, Little dudes and ground vehicles by Crab02 and Diego, guns by Pasko.
  17. You need to check out YAP missions 71-80 which contain, The Bombing of Lima 85.
  18. brain, you may want to try checking with the YAP team at www.yankeeairpirate.net since there has been no response to your query.
  19. My apology for my breech in protocol and tardiness in extending my thanks for clearing that up Mr. Stein.
  20. All the light mods I have done have been totally revamped. No longer are your pits and and the whole damn plane lit up like Monday night football. For example, a 707 looks like a 707 should, same for a F-8E, RF-8G and the Huey's to name a few. They will be available with the next set of Yankee Air Pirate missions.
  21. Yankee Air Pirate has the HH-53 which has just been revamped with an updated FM. The CH-53 is in the paint shop getting detailed and goes out for testing shortly.
  22. Seriously and no offense intended. It was brought up after the last patch in the midst of the water war/yap/payware issue and just probably got lost in the shuffle. Thank You for the fix. Mike
  23. From the Mission "Brass Balls" The RF-8G. From "Tchepone Barracks" Also a reworked FM for the Spad. Skins by Hrntfixr. A primary mode of transport. The Midway's hangar bay. "Roger Ball"
  24. Just to echo the CAG's statement, you will feel like you are there. I swear on my kids. I have never, never, never been so immersed, tense, and using the English language foul mouth dictionary as I have for this set of missions. We have tested and triple re-tested making things work, and still testing. And, we probably still missed something. Doing some research for these missions I was totally caught up in the real life accounts by the Men who were there. Once the CAG made them for YAP/WOV it became even more so. Toto we ain't in Kansas, the yellow brick road going "downtown" is fraught with peril. The Mekong Delta ain't no swimming hole and there isn't a tire swing on a tree on a sunny Saturday at the shoreline, only little people who's mission in life is to ruin your day. The only bonfire you will see at night, may be the flames licking at your tanks. Like the CAG says, "get low, get fast, get out or you will be living in a bamboo cage with a snake." If your still alive.
