  1. Skins pack 6 is out. Here are some of the skins, more pictures are on the Mods Release thread, I had to split them between the two posts to get them all on this forum.
  2. MODS release

Sorry W. Woman, I missed your post. Pack 4 is part of the 2nd Mod "More Skins by Jerbear" As of now there are three packs in User Skins by Jerbear, Pack 1 2 and 3, now there are Pack 4, 5 and 6 in More Skins by Jerbear. Here are what few pictures this forum will allow me to post from the New Pack 6 and a redone skin from Pack 2 for Hans Bohning ( the blue and white diamond pattern) All three Mods have additions and changes so need to be downloaded again to get the changes and new skins, Alternative, User Skins and More skins by Jerbear.
  3. Sandbagger will be posting the re-release of all three Jerbear skin Mods shortly. There are a number of changes to skin in the first 3 packs, contained in User Skins by Jerbear, which now contains 628 skins. These do not replace any WOFF Skin Pack skins More Skins by Jerbear now has Pack 4 and Pack 5 totaling 354 skins. These do not replace WOFF Skin Pack skins The Alternative Skin Mod has a number of new additions and some redesigned skins. It now contains 166 skins. A few of these are personal skins but the vast majority are replacements. These were done because new information has become available since the WOFF Skin Pack was first done in 2013 or earlier. The reasons and sources for each individual Alternate and user skin can be found in their respective ReadMe word files. The changes made in the earlier Mods were due to my finally figuring out how to make a diagonal, Bavarian Rauten fuselage band work so I changed most of those. Some of these are shown in the screenshots. Enjoy Jerbear I was going to add a bunch more screenshots but this forum doesn't want to allow me to upload anything more. So, you'll have to look at the SimHQ post. This forum has it's points but uploading an image any larger than a postage stamp seems to be a problem.
  4. An intercept mission will not allow you to air start so that's out, unless that has changed since I was last on the Campaign. If you are leader you can take off with your boys and after gaining, lets say, 1000 feet or so, take off in a straight line in the direction you expect the enemy to take on return, roughly West usually. If you're not using labels, as I often do, because I'm a Farb at heart, try to keep them in sight and climb in their direction, you will usually catch them just before or a little after they cross the lines. You may even catch them trying to land, which is always a great advantage. Jb
  5. Tried to send private message but when I send, it says, in red, that Polovski cannot receive private messages, same on Sim HQ.

I do not have any restrictions on PMs here.. Buckeye sent me a message a few days go.

Sure we can discuss it.  Send the info to support email address please Jerry and we can talk there.

  6. Hello Pol

Back in July of last year, on Sim HQ messaging, we talked about including some of my skins in the WOFF skin pack.

I have learned a lot and believe I have all the issues you were having with them eliminated.

Are you still interested in them for a future update or revision?

I have at lease 300 maybe 500 or so out of the 1,000 + in the skins Mods that would be acceptable.  No relabeled skins and the image quality issues are fixed.  All of the skins that are from the older generation of Mods have been remade with better techniques and non of these replace any existing WOFF skin.  Although, I have some replacements that I will ask you to consider, based on some of the new information that has come out since the old skins were made, but that's an aside and a separate issue.

I can send them in a separate zip with an installer or I can send you BMPs, whichever works best for you.

    All the best

    Jerry Herd (jerbear)

Hi Jerry,  that may be good, best to send me a Private message rather than on my profile here.

  7. MODS release

Pack 4 was just posted by Sandbagger.
  8. Yet another skins pack. Pack 4 has 170 skins, which brings the total for the four packs to 789. In addition there were some more Alternative skins added, bringing that pack up to 143 skins, making a grand total of 932 in all five packs. My script compiler would not allow me to add Pack 4 to the existing Mod “WOFF User Skins by Jerbear,” so, I had to make a new one. This is “WOFF More Skins by Jerbear.” Pretty inventive title, I know. At Schredward’s instigation, I did the snakes of Kest 8, which turned out not to be as hard as I thought they would be. There are a number of DVIIF skins in Pack 4 and I finally got the courage up to mess with Jasta 11, which I felt was sacred territory and should be tread lightly upon. Bruno Schmaling is supposed to be coming out with a new book sometime on Jasta 11, so some of these may be changing with the new information. There are several Staffels in this pack which had either very few, or no skins at all, namely 51, 58 and 68. Jasta Boelcke is in there, including my attempt at Kirschstein’s optical illusion striped job. I'll post however many shots this message board will allow. There are more on the SimHq site.
  9. MODS release

Skin Pack 4 has been sent to Sandbagger. He will announce it on SimHq and I guess here as well when he posts it. Pack 4 has 170 skins, which brings the total for the four packs to 789. 10. RIP Andrew. 20 missions and one kill was as good as any of the one's I babysitted with me hanging on their tail all the time. I guess when it's your time, it's just your time.
  11. That's a great idea. I tried keeping a wingman alive with me flying as shotgun but they still got themselves whacked in less than 20 missions. Interested to see how this turns out. Their supposed to be able to learn now.
  12. Lafayette Escadrille Skins?

I see it now B Beard...All I saw was the 1916, the 1917 has the head. Snoopy WW1 FA you might be getting the N17 default skin instead of the wingman Laf Esc default. The Sim is kind of hinky sometimes and takes against a skin. Try these tricks to fool the Sim into recognizing the skin. These are part of the troublshooting I use for my Mod skins. The name of the game here is to fool the Sim into recognizing a skin it has taken against for its own reasons. usually this problem is with an ace skin but this being a wingman default it will be a little different. Disable an ace skin, Thaw or Lufbery's by adding a letter on to the end of their name. Rename that default skin exactly like the skin you disabled should be and start a mission that included that pilot. If it appears as the default skin you're in business and should be able to change the two skin names back and every thing should be copasetic. What you will see here is a very strange looking bird, say a Fokker DVII with a Nieuport skin draped over it like a quilt. That's a good thing, that means the Sim recognizes the skin. Still no dice? After you finish cursing, rename the skin with the name of a pilot from the “other side” of the conflict, it doesn't matter what type of machine. Then start this skin in QC and if it works there, switch everything back again and try running it again in Campaign. If the above does not work, try the same thing again only run the skin in campaign as the pilot from the other side. If that works you should be able to put everything back to rights and the skin should work in campaign as it should. That clear enough
  13. Lafayette Escadrille Skins?

Looking at the skin pack, looks like the Esc Laf was rather short changed. The wingman skin, as you say, has no Indian, just camo and the only Indian head I see is Lufbery. Looks like the Lufberys and the wingman are from the original pack in 2011 and Thaw was made in 2013. The skins have been worked on and worked over by a number of people over the years. Strange that the Laf Esc would have slipped through the cracks. But S...happens. Also, I guess if could be a lack of info, I don't know what's out there on the Laf Esc N17 especially in the ancient days of 2011. Not one I'm well informed on, more of German aircraft kind of guy.
  14. NieuportN24 Skins

No Gents...just Gent. That was all Pol the MAN.
  15. BHAHII Missions and Campaigns

Love to fly the Pfalz...it's a nice little plane...as long as it dosn't catch fire for no apparent reason.
  16. NieuportN24 Skins

I Don't see a way to edit these posts. SO...correction, that's not Mick, he's not showing in CQ because of coding problem when Mandrews mod is not on, it is the squadron default. Still, great job.
  17. NieuportN24 Skins

Nice job on that can-o-worms Pol I thank you and Mick Mannock, below, thanks you and thanks Man-drew for bringing it up.
  18. BHAHII Missions and Campaigns

Flying now as Carl Bucker of Kest 8w in January 1918. Kest 8 will be in the next group of skins (Pack 4). It's a little slow back in the rear areas of Luxemburg but There's enough action and I might live awhile.
  19. NieuportN24 Skins

Hi Pol No, what I was trying to say was that ANY N24 with a band will have this problem.
  20. Hi Pol

No, what I was trying to say was that ANY N24 with a band will have this problem.  Not a huge percentage have bands, but still a good number.

OK np, I have remapped the N24's and an N27 to cope with current striped skin.  If you make skins you will probably have to adjust stripes to match mapping now.

btw not the best place to post this as it appears on my profile, best to PM or post in the forum.

      Cheers

      Pol

  21. MODS release

Thanks WW It's similar to one used by a member of Jasta 30 on an Albatros. Loved it the minute I saw it and was looking for an opportunity to use it. Jb
  22. NieuportN24 Skins

Pol It appears to be effecting all N24 skins that have bands. Here are shots of the plain jane N24 (no Bis or Lewis) wingman skin for Esc 154 and a graffed skin for RFC-40 in QC so you can see where the warpage and distortion is. I thought that this type of warpage was just part and parcel for trying to wrap a flat skin around a 3D model rather like trying to wrap a ball in a newspaper, warpage just happens. Was not aware that this was in any way fixable, you just compensate for it the best you can.
  23. WW1 Board Games

GEEKS!!!! MY GOD...EVERYONE HERE IS A GEEK OF ONE STRIPE OR ANOTHER! I was...in my long ago youth, an avid miniatures gamer, ACW and Napoleonics. Played Squad Leader, Richthofen's war and Panzerblitz back in the day. Oh...by the way...welcome. Jerbear
  24. I had it happen once. I posted a screenshot of it on the SimHq forum back a year or so ago. I think it has something to do with the original Combat Flight Simulator base the game is built off of. In that WWII game, crewmen parachuted out when the plane was going down. Somehow the old programing must surface like something in your sub-conscious and the pilot jumps. Or...maybe, it's like a flash back Mannnn......Wow!
