website is slow on response and login in takes 5 minutes

hello i can't reach your website most of the times.

when i cant reach the normale way i can reach it with a proxy server.

 

my own connection is 123 mbit download and 12 mbit upload.

 

sometimes i need to refresh 20 times to view the website and when i get to the website it has a very basic layout.. all the banners are gone etc.

this started yesterday around 3 o clock PM 1+ gmt <amsterdam>

other sites with lots of pic or vids are no problem to open within 2 ms.

i have no slow pc.. a I7 with 8 gb of ram.

 

also sometimes it takes 3 to 5 minutes to login when i finally have the website on the screen.

posting message takes also 3 tot 5 minutes to save.

 

i did a ping test to combatace and i made a screenshot of it.

btw its not all the time that slow... when i watch lets say page 1 of downloads and i want to switch to page 2 then it takes ages.

or trying to open a message etc... i get even message saying can't make connection with server

Sorry about the problems it's the nature of the internet when routers get congested or go down and load balancing takes place.  We are 4 hops away from Amsterdam because the datacenter we're in has their own backbone direct to their DC in Amsterdam so things to you shouldn't be slow.  From us to you I see no problems unlike your hop 6 from you to us, which says that's our potential bottleneck. Of course I can't trace all the way to your personal computer because of your network but 212.142.4.89 appears to be the head end of your ISP so that's close enough anyway. If you open your access to your overhead traffic I can test all the way through to your machine but here's what I can see.

The only thing that's concerning is you say it's when you open multiple pages.  That sounds like potentially you've got a router issue on your local network. You can confirm this by plugging into your broadband modem directly and bypassing your home network. You can also check your speeds to our datacenter in Amsterdam to determine if it's an ISP issue at 198.20.98.2.  

 

Let me know what you find and I'll open a network ticket if there's something concerning.

i have no router or switch between my providers box..

i have it directly into the providers modem.

i am the only user besides my mobile phone.. and even with wifi or g4 i get the same result...

maybe because amsterdam is a interne hotspot of north west europe.. its having problems there.

or having a ddos attack/repare works.. i don't know... my provider has no issue's i have called them.

and also did a test to see my connectivitie from my house to outside by my provider

 

its only with your site every other american site i have fast connection with it..

 

no not multi pages but when i want to click from page 1 of the 9 to page 2 of the 9..

its reacts very slow..

 

at the moment tis good or better then from yesterday 3 o clock pm.

 

its now about 8 ms but stil slow in compair to lets say facebook or youtube <pages with lot of flash>

 

when i do now the ping test its hopes to 15.. and hop number 6 is now filled.

i did the same with 2 other usa website.. nasa.gov and usa.gov

 

they are quick to load within 4 ms. but when i view the tracert.. it looks weird.

Yes I run a full mysql backup in the early morning hours which may relate to your afternoon.  I'm sure there's times where tables are locked during that process but they shouldn't last long (your connection timeout issues).  There's a solution to this and that's to fully replicate our databases but we're not facebook or youtube with access to unlimited equipment.  You can of course make a donation of $4000 USD and I will be happy to fire up another machine for a year just for this purpose.  I'll look to see if there's anything I can do about the server load but I sincerely doubt it since it's a system wide dump. The cron job runs at a time when we have the least traffic but maybe I can look at that as well. Don't hold your breath for a solution unless the cash is on the way, tho I'll look at it.

i am happy that i can enjoy combat ace again.. it was making me very frusty that i can't get to the site..

no i mean it not that way that i am pissed because youtube etc are faster... today and yesterday i take me 5 minutes to even get to the site.

i know your basicly putting your own money in too it.. so by no means i could not be pissed at those kind of people...

 

now its just fine again at the moment..
