New SF2 player here – excited to join the community!

Hi everyone,

My nickname here is Gorilla and I'm a long-time flight sim fan, but completely new to the Strike Fighters 2 community.
I finally finished setting up my full merged SF2 install (Mar2012 patch level), and now I'm looking forward to exploring all the legendary mods you’ve all created over the years.

Just wanted to say hello, thanks for keeping this game alive, and I’m excited to learn from you all and fly some campaigns.

bit of advice, just fo ahead and update to the Jul 2013 patch (little surpised its not already). it should be available on TW site, but if not its available here

the bulk of the mods on here for 2nd Gen are set up for it already, so therell be fewer hiccups (unlike the days where we get a patch like every other month, and a day later modders would be bitchin that the new patch broke their mod!)
