CSomers611 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I was a member of the Commemorative Air Force and a crew member on A-26B, N9682C (Serial # 41-39230) or better known as "Lady Liberty". Lady was the oldest flying Invader, the 130th one produced, being accepted in Aug, 1944, at Long Beach, CA. It was flown to Great Dunmow, England arriving 20 Sep, 1944. It was assigned to the 9th AF, 410th BG and began combat operations in early 1945. Unfortunately, the Lady has been grounded since she suffered a nose gear collapse on takeoff in November 2025. Due to numerous factors, it was decided to retire her from flying status, she will now move to the Tulsa Air & Space Museum where she will be placed on static display. The TASM has created a page to support the Lady: https://www.tulsamuseum.org/ladyliberty/?fbclid=IwY2xjawSfjmtleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETExMTJEdjFnYjRJSHFwU1Jsc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHosyczAxfVicmtXl8v0NoglXYj2BlUNQAeVAIeildzERDMQdzJjKSTRkkd3P_aem_T6Fk3fG7CKrnULmvRtXhVg The recently released a pretty good video about her: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1471286001417630 I plan to be in attendance on September 26, 2026 for her dedication ceremony. From one of my last flights on the Lady..... 2 1
