+pcpilot Posted February 8, 2003 Posted February 8, 2003 Yeah, it is depressing to see another good bird bite it. Maybe we can start a "save a phantom phoundation". We can pool our resources and save enough to buy at least one anyway if not a whole squadron. Those in our group who know how to fix it can make it fly, those who can fly it can drive everyone else around to special phantom aphairs. It could be named the "biohaz boat". Phairly Mahvelous! Simply Maaaahvelous! Quote
KFG_Keller Posted February 8, 2003 Posted February 8, 2003 Well, least that one is still flying, i remember reading Thud Ridge, and at the end the pilot went n meet up with his old comrades or something at the new squads home, they had a F-15 and F4 at the meeting or whatever, and when he went up to the phantom n asked about her, the mechanic told him all she was, was just a shell, everything else was gone, a shell of its former life and service. Too bad they dont give the drones a chance to fight back  Quote
PhabulousPhantom Posted February 9, 2003 Author Posted February 9, 2003 Overheard this at last years Internatinal Air Tatoo (at RAF Fairford), there were plans for a RAF Phantom Phoundation, but the peeps that decide if a plane is safe to fly told them they would never let a F4 take to the sky supervised by volunteers.. But i just heard someone say that... Quote
