AI gunners

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what 'gunner ID' will have aircraft gunners shoot at air and ground targets?

None at present. After you patch it to SP4 level, you might want to try experimenting with it by adding the following line to the data entry for each flex gun in the aircraft's data.ini (without the quotes, of course): "TargetType=Air_and_Ground".

 

There is, of course, no guarantee that it will work, even after patch 4.

I asked about this at C5's site and was told its a no-go. If there's a shred of hope for this, the helo action could heat up very quickly.

i really like the new black hawk and it would be nice if there were gunners to shoot at the ground targets in armed reccon...

I have seen the AI door gunners in the OH6A shooting. Don't know if they were hitting anything but they were shooting...and saying something about her being a sapper and putting the skid somewhere or other.

They are defensive gunners when attacked by enemy planes.
