+FOTF Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I just noticed something else.... Any changes made to the "Textureset.ini" file in a skins directory no longer update the main file for an aircraft... Example.... Updating my VMF-312 FJ-3M Fury skin so it is bare metal. I made my to the TextureSet file (Specular, Glossiness, etc) and saved....in SP3, it would have automatically updated the "FJ-3M.ini" file in the root directory for the A/C....I have to manually make the changes for it to show up in game....haven't had to manually touch that file since SP2... +HrntFixr Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 noticed that also tonight Paul... while working on tomcat skins.... I did noticed that when I added a new folder for a skin that it updated the main ini, but after it's set... you have to manually make changes to it. Also notice that the loadout patch/paint chip works for the new skin folders I just added... strange!!!! Quote
Caesar Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 (edited) Hey all, Well, after about 5 hours, I finally squeezed the latest patch thru narrow-band (back home here) and got SFP1 updated to 4.0. I followed the instructions here(back up, update DX, install, remod) and just about everything works, but I've been having trouble with installation of the weapons pack in the latest patch. Third-party planes, skins, effects, sounds and maps work fine, but every time I try to install the weapons pack, I end up with an error report forcing SF to shut down (one of those "send report/don't send" things/CTD). I should note that I haven't yet devoted another 5-hr block of time to get the May Weapons Pack, I'm using the January one, and I'm not sure if the new one is more compatible or what the deal is. If someone already wrote on this subject, I must have overlooked it, and I am sorry for wasting everyone's time. If not, does anyone else have this issue, or know how to rectify it? Thanks for your time, -Caesar Edited May 22, 2006 by Caesar Quote
+baffmeister Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Following Caesar's lead, I havn't had any luck adding weapons manually. I get the same type CTD. I also have a slow dial up that took 8 hours to download the patch. Will try downloading the new weapons pack overnight which might contain an explanation. Quote
+baffmeister Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Caesar, the old weapon and gun editors don't work anymore. I havn't seen new ones available separatly yet, but if you download and install the new weapons pack, the new weapon and gun editors will be installed as well. They show up in their own folder called "Weapon and Gun Editors." Regards. Quote

Gotta love narrowband ...yeah... Thanks again for the update on the situation; I'll install it when it finishes sometime early next century and see how it goes. Vale, Caesar Quote
+HrntFixr Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) Ok figured out that to get the aircraft patch/paint chip thing to work correctly you need to add your skins 1 at a time and at least get to the load screen once between skins. ALOT of work, start with a stock aircraft ini file and add them that way. Edited May 23, 2006 by Sidewinder86 Quote
eightlein Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 (edited) So, did TK and/or crew ever figure out the BMP patch thing for the A-4's sqn in the drop down list for squadron assignments? I have been advised I need a bmp 32X32 patch for them to show up. They belong in the USN, USMC folders.Thanks. Edited July 11, 2006 by eightlein Quote
+HrntFixr Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Got to thinking about this... i think the stock skins didnt have a sqn patch show in WOV. Maybe just a grey or A/C panel/rivet line shows not the squadron logo. Quote
eightlein Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 well thats what it was there, Yoda. But I see complaining about it, brought release of the latest patch with the fix for that...LMAO...now thats service!!! Quote
