Lexx_Luthor Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 You lost me here. What is a Lynx and Wessex? Quote
Sky Captain Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Teh ausome new helichoppers capun posted. Here's what ye do: Move which ever files need moving into the right folders (weapons folder, for example), add whatever text needs addin' to wherever they need to be added (Weapondata, Gundata, etc.), then open up the Weapon Editor (If you have the latest weapon pack, dated July 3rd, it should be in the Weapon and Gun Editors folder), then open Weapondata, or Gundata, and down at the bottom should be the new weapons. Save the file (DO NOT! 'save as,' just save), and presto, your shiny new blower-uppers should be there. Quote
Wrench Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Check the knowledge base up top; I seem to remembe something about changing the 'properties' of the weapons editor's exe to run in XP. Compatibility for Win98??? can't remember off hand.... Wrench Kevin Stine Quote
Guest capun Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 You have to read the instructions carefully since a lot of the WeaponData.ini for each user is different, when you attach the new weapon entry at the end of the file, you need to adjust the entry number. We use xxxx as a placeholder, so if your last weapon entry is 1025, you need to replace the first xxxx with 1026 and so on for the other weapons. Quote
Guest Sony Tuckson Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 use the weapon editor in win98 compatibility mode then, using the merge function, you don't need to renumber any entries, that's the job of the editor ;) Quote
Draakje Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 (edited) let me explain it a bit better. i added the lines into the weapondata.ini numbered them correctly, then saved the ini. the weapon editor is in compatible mode it starts up, but when i open the weapondata.ini it crashes.(starts to load the file i see the bar moving and the it just freezes) i got the latest weaponpack didnt add any new weapons since it can anybody do it for me? (woe) EDIT: right nevermind according to the knowledge base u need to put them in win95 modus, But that causes the crash i put them in win98 mode and it works now. might want to update that one.
