Creating a "what's available" guides for newbies

Recommended Posts

I just want to know, but would there be any support for creating a table/listing of aircraft types and making it a sticky for easy reference, say, something similar to wpnsgt's table of the units he and his crew are producing? I mean just something that would list a whole bunch of different aircraft, alphabetically or classing them via era or something and simply listing whether or not it is in production, maybe who is producing it, and if it is available? And making sure it could be edited so as to update it from time to time.

I figure this would eliminate the constant "Where can I find an F-22, Su-27?" etc (which I admit to doing myself when I found this site again a few months ago :blush2:) because I'm getting the vibe that these questions are either A. Hard to answer or B. Being asked by people who aren't looking first and I figure having a quick reference guide would solve this problem mostly (there's always gonna be people asking without looking)

(C. And I've noticed some folks getting pissy about people asking...)

There's a "Filling the Blanks With Ground Objects" thread (maintained by me) at SimHQ and Column5's sites; there used to be a "Filling the Blanks with Aircraft/Ships/Terrains" at SHQ, but you'll have to do an archive search for it, as it hasn't been maintined for about, maybe 5 - 8 months or so.

I've been creating a list in a similar fashion to what you've done at SimHQ Wrench but I was thinking about creating something more along the lines of the colum5 SF Version Comparison Chart (http://www.column5.us/sfchart.htm) only problem is that there are a few models I'm positive I've seen but I just can't seem to find at the moment...

You're more than welcome to copy/paste my list of stuff into it! It should be a help to some folks :)

Cheers dude, I might just take you up on that once I get things sorted with this list. I used to think there were quite a lot of models for this but you never realise how many until you try to hunt them al down... :drag:
