bigalsunit Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 When the shadow option is selected in Wings Over Vietnam, the aircraft shadow flickers and is constantly changing. The shadows would be a nice touch to have while landing in formation and taxiing. I've searched the forums and haven't seen any topics related to my question so if anybody has any advice to fix the flickering shadows it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote
+BUFF Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 are you by any chance running an ATi graphics card? Quote
csb Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I actually don't have that problem (nvidia) but I don't like the shadows - the edges are too sharp. But I like the ground shadow, for the reasons you said, and I like the ground object shadows. So I tried to edit to just take away shadows on a/c. Still got ground object shadows but no a/c ground shadow - seems to be tied to a/c shadow. Quote
CBRNine Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Have a "shadow" problem with ATI card... When moving viewing around outside view of aircraft, screen becomes corrupted. Turning shadows off in options fixes. Anyone know a fix or work around for this? Using Cat 7.1 OMEGA Drivers Thanks Quote

Using Cat 7.1 OMEGA Drivers Thanks I'm using the Omega 3.8.252 drivers with my X800XL with no shadow issues whatsoever. Here are my settings: Quote
CBRNine Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Fubar, Tried about every combination I could think of and still had the shadow "lines". Finally got it working, but the exact order I got to the fix I couldn't describe. Heres the details .. X1950XTX SLI'd OMEGA 3.8.30 drivers AntiAlais 14X AntiAnis 16X (High Quality) Catayst AI (Disabled) MipMap Detalil (Performance) Vert Refresh (Always On - Quality) Adaptive AntiAlais (Enabled -Quality) I think the VertRefresh rate might have done the trick. But is working, maxed out, smooth. And, yes I did save the settings. Thanks again for the help. Quote
CBRNine Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 A little too quick on the fix. Still have the problem. Only appears when you rotate the camera view to place the object plane between the camera and the sun. If view is rotated that the sun is behind the camera point, no problem with the shadows. Anyone using X1950's and not having this problem? Quote
