Maybe a bug of the Israel2 terrain

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a problem with the Israel2 terrain by Gepard.

The terrain is pretty cool but if I start the mission on a runway,

my plane blows up and I die.

I use WOV with service pack installed and the last weapon pack.

Hoping this is not an already discussed topic.

Best regards,

Mur

Others have had this problem, Israel2 terrain is "set" up for SFP-1.

You need to go into your Israel2 terrain folder and find the "Israel2.INI" file,

open that file with notepad and find the "line" indicated below:

[Terrain]

TerrainFullName=Israel 2

DataFile=Israel 2_data.INI

TargetFile=Israel 2_targets.INI

TargetTypeFile=Israel 2_types.INI

MovementFile=Israel 2_movement.INI

NationsFile=Israel 2_nations.INI

BriefingText=Israel 2_briefing.INI

DogfightFile=Israel 2_dogfight.INI

DogfightOnly=FALSE

CatFile=..\Desert\Desert.cat<---------change to read-- CatFile=..\VietnamSEA\VietnamSEA.cat

Longitude=29.0

Latitude=35.0

save the "edit", this should take care of the "exploding on runway" problem when using this

terrain in WOV.

Hope this helps you

Unfortunately this does not help.

Indeed in the last release of the israel2 terrain there is a .ini file devoted to WOV and in such a file

the pointed CatFile is already setted to VIetnamSEA.cat.......

I will see what i can do, but all my tests with WOV showed no problems on my system.

2 Questions.

Does it happen on all runways? Or only at some runways?

Which planes do you use. Sometimes the problem is not caused by the terrain, but by the thrid party planes.

I tested it now more than one hour and i had never had this problem. I guess you have not installed the latest patch of WOV.

But this is no problem.

Open file Israel2_targets.ini in terrain/Israel2 folder with Windows Notepad editor.

The press STRG+H

replace

desert_airfield

with

vietnamSEA_airfield

and Press Enter.

Then save the file.

Should help.

If not, please post here.
