+BUFF Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 After 33 years of service all operationally orientated training will cease on this date & any ceremonial flying must be done by the end of May. *OSD is out of service date
+JediMaster Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Things looked ugly on the ground, but they sure do a number in the air!
Redddevil911 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Is the Tornado going to fill the gap till the RAF gets the JSF?
+BUFF Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 a combination of things (Tornados, Harriers, Predator) really cover the CAS & reconnaisance role but there were already just a handful of Jaguars still in service being operated by 6 Squadron. 6 squadron will reform with Typhoons at my local base, RAF Leuchars, ~ the end of the year supposedly.
+ghostrider883 Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 and India still continues to manufacture single seat and dual seat Jaguars
+ghostrider883 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Nope. Jaguars along with MiG-27s form the backbone of IAF's offensive strike fleet. These upgraded Jags can be considered as the ultimate version of the Jaguar family. Note presence of ESM bumps on the nose, deletion of starboard cannon, new LRMTS window.
