Hi Haac

There is a little tutorial in The Knowledge base by Wrench.

So try it:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=19630

Various terrains are located in download section (WW2 New Guinea Full Scale Terrain, WW2 Tunisia/Malta Terrain, WW2 North Africa Terrain, Battle of Britain terrain). I think some terrains are uploaded on Avsim library, too.

In the CA download section are placed two campaigns for WWII (If I am wrong, correct me please  ):

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3748

Third WWII file placed in download section is for multiplayer, I think: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3411

That is all what I know abot WWII packs. I have read about specific WWII era instalations (for example Wrenchs tutorial), but I don't know where I can download another campaigns for them :dntknw:

So every post in this topic can help me too

Haac: what exactly are you trying to build (ie: which theatre?)

Wolf's WW2 planes pack has both Luftwaffe and IJN/IJAAF aircraft, Edward's WW2 terrains have lots of WW2 ground objects built in; there are ships here at CA, more vehicles at Geo's site (the link is in my tutorial); lot's of Dev A-team aircraft (here at CA - Hurri, Spits, Ju88, He111, Ki61, Ki27, A5M) AD's IJN pak has the Zeke, Betty and another Oscar. etc, etc, and of course, etc.

All you need is hard drive space!!!

Since a WWII campaign involves prop-craft, is there any advantage --or problem-- with using FE ???

I've read Wrench's tutorial on the subject at CA: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=19630

...and he says "these instructs are built around WoE, but are the same for any of the other in the series: SFP-1, WoV, or even FE..." [paraphrased]

As I understand, TK has introduced advanced AI coding in FE, so it would be great to use that game for "in-your-face prop-jock dogfights", BUT is FE compatible with 3rd party PROP aircraft MADE for the 3rdWire JET sims???

Has anyone used FE for WWII campaigns effectively???

Well, as an experiment I just dropped the A-team's Hurricane Mk 1 folder into my aircraft folder of FE. The game started a single mission flying the Hurri, and I got into the air (very bumpy take off over grass!), but there seemed to be some sort of rendering problems inside the cockpit (clipping issues I think). Also, I could not select a mission date so who knows what sort of opposition would appear. I seem to remember reading a thread to the effect that dates are restricted in FE, but there may be a workaround for that.

As for campaigns - haven't tried yet. That would mean getting Gepard's BoB terrain working in FE, which may or may not be possible.

I also seem to remember reading that a further round of patches is on the way, so perhaps SFP1 etc will be brought up to FE standards in due course.

regards,

baltika
