AI Aircraft lack A/A missiles

Flying the MiddleEastWar V11 in SFG. Seems all the MiG-21s don't carry any A/A missiles. They only have a gun pod and drop tank. The Su-7s seem fine and are loaded with A/G bombs, etc. This happens when I fly for the israeli side. Now if I fly for the EAF, etc, I can load the A/A missiles up and it works fine. So, why doesn't the AI load them up?

You should check your aircraft data.ini and make sure they say for weapons "Soviet" Also all of the names in the weapons pack changed the name from NATO names to Soviet names so that means that the loadout.ini is looking for a missile that has a different name.

 

Find the MiGs here and change their loadout.ini and that should fix your problem.

Assuming you're using the Weapons Pack, you (like Sag said) probably haven't adjusted you data and loadout inis to take advantage of the new style of weapons namificaton.

 

Depending you the type of aircraft (sometimes for Egyptian, Syrian, Lybian, Leboneese) you can get away with using the 'SOVIET' attatchment type. If it is a nation specific aircraft (Jordanian, Lybian, Egyptian, Syrian), you'll have to switch it over to "WP".

 

Then the fun begins.....

 

You'll have to browse the weaponsdata ini using the LATEST version of the weapons editor (it's in the weapons pak), and find the correct weapons as used by each particular country.

 

Then, you'll use THAT name as the weapon to be loaded by listing it in the hardpoint data in the loadout ini .

 

For example, we'll use the ever present MiG-17F Fresco C as used by the EAF....

Yep that's a lot of work. The Israeli one load out just fine in the AI. Strange, strange this sim is :)
