Can we have more then 1 pilot skin in FE?

Hi Guys

Is it possible 2 have a german pilot skin as well as the Default one , as i have skinned a german pilot , and he looks very out of place in , say a dh2, Ive seen some real nice pilot skins for the other SF titles but nothing for FE, is it do'able

 

also while im here lol Does any1 know if there is a gas shell mod , i posted this topic on the FE only forum but , i didnt get a yay or nay , so im still no nearer knowing if there is , i did a search of these forums and the search gave no matches

It is very easy to have more than one pilot model in the game, and it is the exact same procedure as the rest of the 3rdW series flight sims. First of all, you need to extract the pilot lod file from the ObjectData.cat file. When this is done you need to rename it and the new bitmap you have painted to a filename of your choice. Now, you need to get yourself a hex editor (this is a tool that can edit the lod files, a simple google will get you one.) With the hex editor you need to open your newly named lod file and do a text string search to find where the bitmap paint file is listed. When you have done this you need to type in the name of the new bitmap over the existing one. When you have done this, save it and place both the new lod and bitmap in the aircraft folder.

 

The last stage is to edit the data.ini of the aircraft you want your new german pilot in. Wrench's site has a good tutorial on how to go about doing this....

Hey Man THx so much I did the lod remane and the bmp , but its the hex part i had no idea about

Im in waltham cross , but just sold, the house was only on the market 2 days !!!

just waitin for the legal stuff , so i dont know how long i will be here for!!! LOL

cool man welwyn aint bad i got friends in stevenage , but i never venture north i always head back in2 london, all my best friends live in and around camden
