I'm wanting to edit the roundel files to change all the countries. However, I can't seem to get the alpha channel to work right! :(

I can get the alpha channel to not cut my new decals into the shape of the USA and Russian roundels, but now I just get a horrible white border around *everything* which is in these TGA files, edited or not.

This is what my alpha looks like

What I come up with. :(

How do I prepare a TGA file to work properly using Photoshop CS2? I so need to get this work done quickly, and I'm stumped, stumped I tells ye.

Thanks

Hmm.... the only thing I can think is you should save it as 32 bit, 24-bit works too, but that's the only issue I can see, or.. make sure the Alpha is inactive while saving as well. The alpha layer will still save, but not sure. I remember an issue with the TGA file plugin with PS7, but since I got that fixed it works fine, if what I said doesn't work, it could be a plugin issue.

Well I am getting the same result, with CS3, saving at 24 or 32-bit is the same. For some reason if I put the .tga file in the temptextures folder it appears fine ingame, but if I pack it in a cdds file then it gives me that same odd result you're experiencing MechaStalin...

You can send it to me some how or just post a large pice of what you want on the tga and i'll fix it for you i don't know what program your using so its hard to explain why it is but it has to do with the mask and how the alpha channel sees transparency. There was a tutorial on working with Alpha chanels on Simmers paint shop but I can't seam to find it now
