Need an advice, US involved in AIW 1956/1967

Hello!!

 

I need an advice;

Imagine the middle east wars in 1956 and 1967, anyone can imagine a factible history for let the USAF and US NAVY to join the war?? And what kind of planes will be used in each war??

That's pretty simple actually. If the wars had gone badly for the Israeli's, I'd imagine we would have fulfilled mutual defense obligations...which would then cause the USSR to step in...

 

Aircraft...even simpler. We probably would have use our Europe based assets initially. Just look at what we flew at the end of the Korean War and in 1967 for the Vietnam War to get an idea of what aircraft we would have used back then.

Not sure, USAFE units would have been a first choice in the ME

 

I think the Carriers would have gone first, then ANG units from continental US would have been deployed....

I need to know wich carriers are active in the Med during 1956, and specially wich air wings they carried, ( including plane models ) I only found some of them.

Is possible that no carrier used Furies in the Med during 1956??

Just what I needed!! Yipii!! Campaign creation I'm coming!!

I have been toying with a campaign in that era for a while. (I like the early missile age) I was using the Dhimar/Parani thing, modelling them off of similar powers in the middle east.

I used www.navysite.de/carriers.htm. Pick a carrier then scroll down and click on deployments which will give you the deployments of the specific carriers. The one problem with this era is the lack of some aircraft. I know the A-team is releasing its A-3 soon(which I assume is carrier capable), but the f4d-1, f8u-1(F-8A), or carrier capable Fury is not available.

I'm more thinking in the Banshee, Cougars, Skyraiders and of course naval Furies, maybe someone can help making the Fury a carrier capable plane?? Of course will not have a visible hook, but as long as I can land it on a carrier, is ok.

I asked info about the RAZBAM Banshee, versions for SF, skins... I will really like to make a campaign with one of this beasts

I have been toying with a campaign in that era for a while.

 

I guess we all have similar tastes then. I already have one about halfway done. I'm calling it Dhimar '58.

 

I'm glad I picked up on this thread, as I hadn't realized that the Fury wasn't carrier capable. And I have a unit of those deployed already.

 

The ini fix will work for me just fine however.
