Hey all!

For the experts among us; I want to try to use a weapon editor

(like on this site) but when I open the data file it counts only up to

about 1058. As my data file has about 2100 entries I do not understand...

Also, when looking at the content it is virtually impossible to find,

add or save properly. At worst, my data file is shortened to the 1058

mentioned earlier and I can say goodbye to most weapons.

How do you get it to work, and how do you use this (or any other) editor

to make for example the Mig-19P/PM nose work.

Can't get it done, please request help! :help:

Thanks in advance!

Using the Weapon Editor, open up the weapondata.ini found in the Ojects>Weapons file. be sure the editor is set to Win98 compatibility, and be sure you are selecting the weapondata.ini from the correct installation. After making several weapon edits that didn't appear in game I realised that I was selecting the weapondata.ini from a different installation.

Just clicking SAVE when closing the editor should save any changes you made.

tank03 is right. That is your problem, I think. I did many mistakes with use different weapondata.ini, because I have about 8 different sfp1 series installations

Also, to be making sure you're using the latest version (it's the one that came with the wepons pak)

What I do, is I add the text section to the weapons data ini FIRST, then use the editor to 'finalize' it. This compiles the new weaponsdata.dat file, which is waht the game acutally reads from.

kukulino: only 8??? You lightweight!!! :haha: 17 here....(includes FE though)
