Hmmm, interesting campaign. There seems to be nothing worng with the carrier placement, but what strikes me as odd is how you added additional units. Sure, it's a PITA do add additional units since you have to check the AirUnit number order, but adding them after the stock units, especially when mixing friendly and enemy forces had caused trouble in my campaigns. Thus I am curious whether you could launch a campaign with a French or USAF unit that is listed after the WP units.

Also, UnitID refers to the AirUnit number and those do not match in your campaign.ini

Yes it works, my USN Tomcat unit is listed after the WP air units, and nothing's wrong...

Can't get mine working either. I'm trying to add the CVN-75 Harry model, works in Missions made with KME, but can't get the campaign. I had one flight where I started in the water, and one with a CTD. Carrier folder is in the correct place. It's installed right, this I know.

Edited this in the Red Lightning DATA.INI file:

[AirUnit055]

AircraftType=F-14A

Squadron=VF1

UnitName=VF1 'Wolfpack'

ForceID=8

Nation=USN

DefaultTexture=USN

BaseArea=North Sea 75

CarrierBased=TRUE

CarrierNumber=75

BaseMoveChance=0

RandomChance=100

StartNumber=1

MaxAircraft=16

StartAircraft=16

MaxPilots=16

StartPilots=16

Experience=100

Morale=100

Supply=50

MissionChance[sWEEP]=70

MissionChance[CAP]=50

MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=65

MissionChance[ESCORT]=0

MissionChance=0

MissionChance[CAS]=0

MissionChance[sEAD]=0

MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=0

MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=0

MissionChance[RECON]=0

UpgradeType=NEVER

Supply[001].WeaponType=AIM-9H

Supply[001].Quantity=2880

Supply[002].WeaponType=AIM-7E2

Supply[002].Quantity=880

Supply[003].WeaponType=Tank330_F14

Supply[003].Quantity=440

Supply[004].WeaponType=AIM-54A

Supply[004].Quantity=440

Added this to the plain campaign .INI file:

Also added "Service008=USN" to the list of nations at the top of this file

[CarrierUnit001]

CarrierType=CVA-63

CarrierNumber=75

UnitName=CVN-75

ForceID=1

Nation=USN

BaseArea=North Sea 75

NumSquadron=5

BaseSize=MEDIUM

Experience=100

Morale=100

Supply=100

Added this to GermanyCE_targets.ini:

[TargetArea335]

Name=North Sea 75

Position=326721.000000,805795.000000

Radius=5657

ActiveYear=0

Location=1

Alignment=FRIENDLY

CarrierStation=True

And added nothing to the "types" file as I havent heard of a need to. I could not find a GermanyCE_nations.ini file ANYWHERE.

Any ideas? :dntknw:

You find the [TerrainName]_nations.ini in the [TerrainName]. cat. Use the SFP1E extractor to get it.

FYI

[CarrierUnit001]

CarrierType=CVA-63

This line points to the carrier in your groundobjects directory, but it can only work if that matches the name of that folder.

Since I guess that you have not named the folder for the CVN-75 'CVA-63', it is no surprise that the carrier doesn't show up...

Many thanks. I saw somewhere to leave the CarrierType as ALWAYS CVA-63 as it was the only recognized one. Probably something that doesnt apply to WOE.

You mean this?

Note that the CarrierType must remain CVA-63,...

This quote from the article in the knowledge base about adding a carrier assumes that you own WOV and therefore have the CVA-63. But fact is that you do not need to own WOV to add a carrier to SF or WOE, as there are plenty of 3rd party carriers available.

Perhaps it would be best if this article would be rewritten and then be less focused on adding a particular type of carrier.

Still haven't got it to work... I may just go back to the start and try all over again.
