Enemy Settings?

How do you fly the majority of the time with the Air Defence settings and Enemy air activity settings. Does random provide more variety in the sim?

I typically fly with both settings on Normal. Not enough challenge when set to Light, and my old, crap system bogs down too much with all the SAM/AAA activity when set to Hard.

Hard...always hard.

 

Even my monster system does bog down with 800 zillion SAMs flying around and flak bursts...sometime goes down to 10 fps!
