[WeaponData2217]TypeName=F-22WingTank FullName=F-22A Wing Tank ModelName=F-22A_600FT Mass=1925.079956 Diameter=0.830000 Length=6.200000 AttachmentType= NationName= StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=0 Also reading the SDB README.txt file states: "open up the Weapon Editor and update the Weapondata.dat file as per the knowledge base at Combatace.com - http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=9323. You are changing 1 weapon, adding 1 weapon, and adding one rack" The link says nothing about dat files, could someone help here or point me to a tutorial on how to do this. Quote
+Dave Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 You dont do anything with the dat file. You add all that to the weapondata.ini file. Then open the editor, see if they are in there hit save and the .dat gets made with your changes. Quote
+FastCargo Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Okay, read this very carefully: There are two files that are critical to adding weapons to your install. Weapondata.ini and weapondata.dat. All the weapondata.ini file does is provide information to the Weapons Editor to BUILD the weapondata.dat file. THAT file is the file the sim uses to give you weapons in game. So, if you want to add weapons, follow the instructions laid out in the link in the post you put up. If you want a fast way, delete the weapondata.dat (AFTER BACKING IT UP), then open up the weapondata.ini file with the Weapon Editor and then hit the Save button. The only bad thing about that technique is that for some reason, Weapon Racks won't show up. So if you have the time, while in the Weapons Editor, double click on each weapon entry that is a Weapons Rack and just hit the OK button. After you have done that for ALL the Weapons Racks, then hit the Save button. Bingo, a new weapondata.dat ready for use. FastCargo Quote

FastCargo Ah now I get it, I thought I had to open the dat file! but all I have to do is open the weapons editor after adding entries to the ini file, checking that all entries are there & double clicking on the new racks, then save, that updates the dat file! Many thanks for the help & aircraft! Quote
Rover Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I have a problem with the Weapon Editor... maybe I don't understand some part of this topic (my english is not so good). I add weapons following this steps: 1) Add the new weapon in the WEAPONDATA.INI 2) Open the Weapons Editor and open the WEAPONDATA.INI 3) Open the new weapon added in the WEAPONDATA.INI and click "OK" 4) Then SAVE and CLOSE After all this steps, run the game and when I go to the Load Out section, there is nothing. What i'm doing wrong? Thank you very much!!! Quote
Caesar Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 @ Rover Mirage: Did you get the latest Weapon Editor off of ThirdWire? It was released within the past few weeks. If you use an older version with WoI the weapons disappear. Quote

Caesar Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I haven't tried the latest weapon editor with WoE; perhaps you should use the older one with bunyaps' wepaon pack. If the old one didn't work with WoI, the new one which does might not work with WoE. This is speculation, of course, but try the one with the 3 July 06 Weapon pack. If that doesn't work, I'll go ahead and troubleshoot over here and shoot you a PM if I find anything. Quote

+Dave Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 You can only use the new wep editor with WOI. As WOI is coded to use it. Until WOE/WOV get patched up to WOI standards using the new editor will give you nothing but problems. Use the old editor with WOE and WOV. Just noticed in the download section its states it works for both WOI and the First Eagle Expansion pack. Quote

Once opened the Weapon Editor, when i try to open the WEAPONDATA.INI, the editor shuts down... I don't know why... Again... thanks for your time!!!! Quote
