How many tiedown chains you think they got on those birds? 12? 16? 18? 20!!!!!!??? lol You know the Plain Captains are in the shop bitching about having to wash all those planes too. navychief 1 Posted August 19, 2003 Hey Seawolf Thanks for the picture! Yep, a lot of tiedowns required for heavy weather. Seems like I recall that as many as 32 or 36 were sometimes used per aircraft! Tiedown chains were a major pain in the arse for me as a Line CPO. I had the ultimate responsiblity of their inventory, and the blue shirts on the carrier were always throwing them over the side. I caught one of them doing it one night, and I damn near threw HIM overboard! I took his scrawny butt to his Div. CPO, and let him take care of it. Grrrrr.
