Well, I downloaded the file from AVSIM, and, as I mentioned on the Sim HQ site, I get constant CTDs when I get close to the carrier. Frustrating, to say the least.

 

There were no installation instructions included with the file from AVSIM. I assumed that all files were supposed be placed into the Objects folder, which I did.

 

Anyone have a fix for this?

Email JW. he'll send you a fix for it. If it works he'll make it availble to the community. I don't have that prob, but I get HUGE lag whenim up close.

I have not seen the update file to this on AVSIM yet, and I have checked several times throughout the day. One question I have is:

 

Is the anti-ship mission the only way to see the carrier? For some reason, even if I choose anti-ship, I am only able to get the cargo ship to show up, NOT the carrier. Please, if someone can explain the answer to this problem, I would appreciate it. I put all the new files for CV-41 into my Objects directory, as usual.

At SimHQ there is a thread on how to make the CV into its own object. I believe Digital Overload showed how to do it.

A quick an easy way is to replace the Cargo Ship or Tanker with any naval object, then you can use the create mission (anti-ship). You can create different naval objects but then you have to create your own missions.

I have been playing with different naval object and in one mission I had Beer's Pegasus, Cargo Ships, Tankers, Modified Nanuchka II's, Pasko's OSA II ships. Beware that the game slows down considerable if you have that many ships milling around each other.
