gumpy Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Does anybody know how to fix this? It"s the Black Sea terrain, and it only seems to happen in cockpit around 21000ft to 30000ft at different head angles.
Stick Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 (edited) Have you played around with the Flightengine ini especially Farclipdistance? If so I think you need a higher resolution tileset. This happened to me in WOI, but went away when I used Max188s tileset. In your case does Pfunk advise Brain32's tileset? Edited October 4, 2008 by Stick
gumpy Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 No high rez tile sets for Black sea terrain.
+MigBuster Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Does anybody know how to fix this? It"s the Black Sea terrain, and it only seems to happen in cockpit around 21000ft to 30000ft at different head angles. what game? have you just plonked the terrain into a Sept2008 version of the game? and did it include any old ini files with it that may have replaced the newer ones?
gumpy Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 It's WOE patched up to V08.30.06 does not have new patch applied.
krfrge Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I would offer you what was offered to me. Extract the flightengine.ini and tweak the far clip distance. That seems to do the trick. Also check you terrain_data.ini This is taken from SFP1 [TerrainMesh] TextureThreshold=0.80 LowDetailMeshThreshold=0.50 MedDetailMeshThreshold=0.30 TileToHeightGridRatio=4 RenderMeshVertexCount=4096 RenderMeshIndexCount=6144 SolidObjectVertexCount=4096 SolidObjectIndexCount=6144 AlphaObjectVertexCount=2048 AlphaObjectIndexCount=3072 [HeightField] DetailScale=10.0 DetailFrequency=1.0 MaxHeight=1000 MinHeight=0 [HeightOffset] NonTexturedMesh=-10.0 TexturedMesh=-5.0 DetailedMesh=0.0
+Syrinx Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Good advice above. I thought it was the new Tetris terrain at first
gumpy Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 I'll give it a try. Thanks guys and yeah it does look kinda like tetris don't it.
gumpy Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 Thanks guys I'll give it a try.One thing though [HeightOffset] LowDetailMesh=-1.0 WaterMesh=0.8 This is what the HeightOffset section looks like in the Black sea data ini,not at all like the example from SP1
krfrge Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Sorry for a late answer but try using the SFP1 #s. If that doesn't fix the problem, try this: [HeightOffset] NonTexturedMesh=-4.0 TexturedMesh=-2.4
