Don't forget the theramin was basically an electronic instrument and it predates that.

And sampling techniques were sort of developed by W.S. Burroughs in the 30's

And music from noises was pioneered by Dada

Watch it - it's hilarious :haha:

 

Still, bringing it all together and finding a way to write music from every scap of unmusical sound is a milestone.
