ships a little low in water in WOV

Recommended Posts

I noticed that the ships are all sitting a bit low in the water after the Okt. patch. Is there a fix for that??

Strangely, it's the same fix as the shimmering water fix in KB. TK said that altering water mesh level affects both z buffer and placement of objects on the water.

And the latest patch placed water a bit lower than it was before.

That's why you're better off NOT altering the water mesh height. The correct fix is to change the Z-buffer level.

My settings are this

[HeightOffset]

LowDetailMesh=-1.0

WaterMesh=1.8 <------------- but if this goes i meters like anything else in this game. It's like saying having ships low in the water or having a lot of shimmering on the water effects, well guess I must learn to live with ships sitting a bit low :biggrin:

well I had to have the watermesh a little offset to have no shimmering at all. added Fubar's new water effect as well

[HeightOffset]

LowDetailMesh=-1.0

WaterMesh=0.1

Now it looks normal again
