Something I Notice About Frame Rates

Recommended Posts

I finally got this thing working on a dual boot rig, and being a Flanker-ite of some years it was easy for me to start cranking out custom mission.

Here's what I found, the stock missions run good, however I had noticable lags and some slow down spots. I re created the mission (to a degree) in the editor and found that; missions made on my rig have very, very little lag at all and run much smoother than the stock mission. I do know why but they do.

Also I'm find that on my meager AMD 1.4 with 512mb DDR and a in-exspensive

G-Force FX 5200 (dx-9 compliant) series vid card, I can run with most setting to full (except Water) and get a steady and decent 25FPS 1024x resolution, not too bad me thinks, this is also with AA set at 2x.

Unfortunately I can't remember exactlyl how I tweaked it (I did so much) but I created about 5 different mission with the same results in FPS even down in the weeds firing weapons, (except alot of rockets at once).

I say all this to say, do not judge your performance by the canned missions!!!

I hope this info helps.
