navychief 1 Posted December 5, 2003 What would be cool is if several of us could take off, and form up for a flyover! I know, I know......weird idea. Go Navair Navy Chief
switch 0 Posted December 5, 2003 What would be cool is if several of us could take off, and form up for a flyover! I know, I know......weird idea. Go Navair Navy Chief It would be weird if one of us was flying Cessna 152 and some other guy was flying one of those add-on F-104s! I`ll try to make it tonight (although very unlikely). Also I have to get one of those voice comm gizmos. Got to get some info on that too.

MadJeff 3 Posted December 6, 2003 I have a TeamSpeak server online, just ping fshost.dtdns.net for the IP address. I haven't had a chance to test from outside, but it should be working. Feel free to join the server and try it out, then let me know if you have any issues. You can grab TeamSpeak at the following link if you don't have it already: http://www.teamspeak.org/

switch 0 Posted December 6, 2003 (edited) I am the only one on the server at the moment... Damn! I didn`t make it on time! As soon as I get home I`m gonna download that Teamspeak program and be ready for FS flights by tomorrow morning. I don`t know about other people schedules, but for me the best time for joint Biohaz flying would be on the weekends or weekday mornings. Damn again! - MrMudd was in the air and I missed it! :( Edited December 6, 2003 by switch
MadJeff 3 Posted December 6, 2003 We had 4 or 5 of us earlier in the evening, but I got pulled away... We'll do it again with a little more warning this time.

Guest MrMudd Posted December 7, 2003 :P I am flying right now on the server..... ICAO "4S2" Hood River oregon
switch 0 Posted December 7, 2003 (edited) :P I am flying right now on the server..... ICAO "4S2" Hood River oregon I did try to join in around 23:45 PST I didn`t see anybody there. Then I fired up one of my local saved flights in T-37. I tried hooking up again and there was guy with a glorious callsign "Catbut" that joined up on me. But things were not good with my T-37. Some files must`ve got corrupted when I was screwing around with graphics and system setups for Lo-Mac. So I had to bug out! I ended up re-installing FS and T-37. It works great now. I connected to Biohaz server again at around 14:00 today, using teamspeak. Everything was working fine - except nobody there! BTW. MrMudd, I checked out the area of 4S2. Killer scenery! (I have everything on high settings in res 1600x1200, AF-16x, AA-2) Also, what do you normaly fly in FS MrMudd? Edited December 7, 2003 by switch
Guest MrMudd Posted December 8, 2003 Sincei cant blow anything up... I fly mostly helos and STOL type aircraft, bushplanes. I dont get into the "cross a time zone flights" like the guys that do the commercial jumbo jet stuff. Has no appeal to me. I am a professional aviator, i'll save that for work. I spend my time entertaining challenges. so i mostly fly helos and Bushplanes, Testing the envelopes, also their is a program called liquid scenery and some neat plugins, to fight forest fires, Search and rescue, finding that tight little LZ and seeing if you can autorotate in it. thats the stuff i do with FS2004 ad in the real weather, and its a ton of fun in an online enviroment. trying to do the stuff above. I have a 10 year old son, that he and i are working on his PPL, so we do allot of activities on this. He can out IFR his intructors right now. Its very amusing. and he has the same passions for flight sims that i do. ;)

Its very amusing. and he has the same passions for flight sims that i do. ;) Jeez, by the time he`s old enough to get the licence He`ll be ready to test the skills of his FAA examiners. Now, to on-line flying. I`m a newbe to this so I`m still a little fuzzy on details. In MSFS when you join up as client, all the settings like weather, vis, etc. are set by the host, right? Another thing: (I know you don`t have that much time) It would be great if one day you can post some scenario, area, required aircraft and of course mission time (be it SAR, fire) and people can join up in some function or another. I`ll try to practice rotorhead stuff beforehand (my initial flights in MS helos were not pretty!) Well, just a thought.
Guest MrMudd Posted December 8, 2003 when you join up to a server. you are only exchanging aircraft type and position data, as well as being able to chat with them You can control your time of day, the weather etc. The key part to remember about the multiplayer. is you can only see aircraft that you have oin your aircraft database. So if I downloaded a F16 for example and decided to fly that, you would not see my f16 model, becasue you do not have it. all you will see is what ever last aircraft i had that was in your database displayed. It can be funny sometiems, watching a helo all of the sudden have the performance of a SR-71. use the ?list command and it will tell you the functions in the game to get the info you need ?where : the Airport nearest id of the people on the server ?planes: aircraft type players are flying etc etc etc...
