jomni Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) Which view do you prefer? F1 or F2? I play using F1 (with TrackIR) so that I can see the pipper and the target clearly. But I long for the field of view that F2 provides (see all mirrors, gagues that I can't read anyway, and more sky). I'd like to know what's more practical and why? And for those who fly real jets, what's the more realistic view? Edited March 20, 2009 by jomni Quote
Viper6 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I use F1 and mouse to look around in A2A combat and just F1 for A2G. when combat or mission is over, I use F6 Quote
Hokum Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 F2 for take off/landing and manouvering, then F1 or F3 for combat. Quote
GMagos Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I guess that I am the only one that uses F2 view all the way and full zoom out..... Quote
EricJ Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 No I zoom all the way out all the time. I like it because of situational awareness, and zoom in for either precision iron bomb dropping or strafing runs. Quote
Rodent Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Depends on what I am doing. The 3 views seem to remember their zoom and position if you don't repeat the keypress when you are in it, so sometimes I set F1 to be the standard view, I normally zoom back a little bit on the F1 view, and then I set the F2 and F3 differently depending on what I want to do. I like to have a zoomed in view of the radar in BVR engagements so I have a more detailed view on what target I lock up and fire at. If I fly an AC 130 I might have one view set to look left, unless I just use the F4 key to lock view to the target, but that doesn't always work when there are a billion targets to cycle through.
