Strike Fighters Anime shelved...for now

This is an update from the Strike Fighters Anime project.

 

Due to changes within the group and due to new leadership changes, SF:The Anime is now on hold.

 

In its place are pilot episodes for two mecha-anime series: "Tomcat Alley" and "G-Force Afterburners"

 

The team that had worked the on SF:The Anime are now working on an anime remake of the SEGA-CD game "Tomcat Alley". This series will include characters created by the combatace community for Strike Fighters. Content will be a mix of anime and game footage from WOI.

Setting:

World Terrorism is entering a new age as the United States continue to struggle in the War Against Terror in the Middle-East. With the world's most powerful nations concentrated on the middle-east, new technologically advance factions begin to rise. One of whom is Paran. Once a warring nation with it's neighbor Dhimar, Paran was nearly destroyed during a fierce confict between it and Dhimar's ally, the United States during the 1980s. After years of being peaceful, a new Islamic government has taken power of the nation. What makes matters worse, the new regime is backed by ex-Soviet revoutiaries and renegades led by General Povich whose sole objective is to destroy the United States and her allies.

 

In 2008, intelligence agancies reported steady build up of terrorist forces in the deserts of Paran. In 2009, a new coalition force was secretly formed by the United Nations to combat future large-scale potential threats. The UN ground element of this coalition was called the Combined-Strike Force. The Naval element was called Blue Thunder. The air element was called Combined-Air Unit, often referred by its nickname, "Tomcat Alley" due to its complement of F-14 aircraft.

 

Tomcat Alley is comprised of rebuilt and redisigned, decomissioned F-14's. As Tomcats were retired, some were siphoned back to Grumman for retrofiting and overhaul. These new Tomcats recieved new engines, strengthend airframes, new weapons systems, and new avionics. This new breed of Tomcat is the F-14X Super Tomcat. The F-14X is the mainstay of Tomcat Alley due to its versatility in air and ground combat. The multi-national pilots who fly at the "Alley" are some the best pilots of the world.

 

Tomcat Alley's mission is to destroy terrorist threats wherever possible. In 2010, Paran forces invade Dhimar... Tomcat Alley is sent into action, taking on the most technologically-sophisticated terrorist military in the world...

Well, personally I wanted to stay with Strike Fighters, but our sponsor wants a more "marketable" theme...
