WoV - Editing Mission Loadouts and Numbers

Recommended Posts

Hi community,

I've done some searching around the various .ini edits in the forums, but I cannot find what I'm looking for, so, I shall ask

1. With single missions, can I edit the number of aircraft that fly it with me? I think this may be predefined in the mission type. For example, if I fly Wild Weasel I only get my wingman.

2. Again, with single missions, when modifying aircraft I have flying with me, I cannot seem to alter loadout types. For example; Last night I flew a CAS mission in the SPAD, I had a squad of four aircraft, I selected two of those to be F-5A's which I wanted to fly top cover for us, but I could only select air to ground ordnance to load.

Is there a fix around for these issues?

As usual, thanks in advance to all.

Andy.

I know for a fact, with your first problem, if you go into your roster and click on any pilot they will be added to your flight and will fly alongside you, you can have a maximum of 16.

2nd problem, i dont really know if there is a fix for it, apart from editing the loadout for that aircraft i think. Not sure on that one im afraid.

How to I get rid of aircraft. I was flying a mig-21 and fighting F4s and F14s O.o, How do I make it only Era specific fighting, but still be able to use my "Future" aircraft :/

Give me an example of what aircraft you mean

I play WoV, but there are FA-37A, F-14s, F-79s. When I'm a "US" Plane, I never see em unless I am then. When I'm a red plane, I sometimes fight them and get raped

Maybe you could change the INI's of the aircraft to change the start and end dates of them? Or you could just have a look at The mission designer? That will let you put whatever aircraft you want into a mission, and you make the mission yourself.

O.o Is there something about that in the knoweldge base or is just really simple.

In single missions, you can change the aircraft type of your wingmen, but the only weapons available to load onto their aircraft will be weapons that were available for the aircraft you originally chose and are flying (A-1's don't carry A/A ordinance, so there isn't any available for the F-5's)

First, careful about hijacking someone else's thread.

The dates aircraft are available is in the top section of it's data.ini file located in the aircraft's folder. In single missions, the game engine randomly picks aircraft that have service dates that match when you're flying. So, Mig-21's, F-4's, and F-14's all were in service at the same time, so they will show up in the same missions. The only way to stop that from happing is to play campaigns, build missions using the missions builder, or alter the service dates of the aircraft (which results in screwed up dates and makes things complicated and confusing in the long run...).

This is one of the downsides to adding lots of aircraft to one install of the game. The historical accuracy (in Vietnam, for example) starts to go out the window.

There is a whole tutorial available to download, it got me to make missions simply, just concentrate on the tutorial and you will do good.

I have now made so many changes, installed so many different versions of this sim, and installed so many aircraft, that I think I'm going to have to re-write my campaigns to make them work anyway.

A link to the tutorial would be nice.

Cheers
