ndicki Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I've been looking at some of the screenies, and they are less jaggedy-edged than mine, or so it feels - so - what's the trick? I have my card (7600GS AGP) set at 4x, and it runs nicely in-game, but the moment I take a screenshot, there's no anti-aliasing visible Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks! Quote
zmatt Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I enable it through the 3d options in the video card driver. I actually have 3 different profiles for games. I have a normal one where everything is set to default, one for WoX where all 3d options are set to max, and one for Half Life 2 where catalyst AI is enabled so some stupid 3d error doesn't pop up. You have an Nvidia card so the options will be found in "Nvidia system tools". Quote

zmatt Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) I don't have an nvidia card, so I can't walk you through exactly how to do it. Is there an option to override game settings? In ATI catalyst you can set it to force certain settings or let the game control it. Also make sure you are changing the "gaming" settings and not normal settings. Edited May 7, 2009 by zmatt Quote
Shotgun 27 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Keep in mind the antialiasing settings you have set on the videocard are a type of "pseudo" antialiasing that is only done through the video card and not through the game's engine. The screenshot feature uses the game's enging to take the screenshot, and since the antialiasing is technically not being applied through the game engine but through the video card translating the data from the engine into what you see on the screen, your screenshots will not have the same smoothness that the in-game picture does. The shots you see in the screenshot thread that are really, really smooth are usually enhanced with Photoshop. Quote
Viper6 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 in your in game options set the graphics resolution to something like 1280x1024 my old screen shots were jagged edged until i set mine as high as they could go. I also set the objects options to high and unlimited to make use of the hi-res skins. Then I used GIMP to sharpen the images. Quote
