Looking to purchase new PC... Do you guys think this very affordable PC would be a good solution? I'm looking for high frames per second and excellent graphics quality in the Thirdwire Sims. I love Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam but, when I have the graphics set to unlimited, it really brings my current machine to a crawl. I'm just looking for simple yes, no or other suggestions. Thank you.

Looks alright for most things - but for TW games on max probably not. - pretty sure you need a dual core with faster clock speed IMO to run on full max.

The TW games are not optimised to take advantage of Dual Core - even though they run slightly better on dual core and the SF2 series seem to run faster anyway due to whatever tweaks have been put into it by TK.

 

 

 

Someone with a similar system could probably say for sure - although ask them how it runs over Hanoi with loads of SAMs in the air :)

For that price you are getting screwed. You could be better off building your own. The components listed are all about 3 generations old. You could do much better.

It is a bit expensive for what's in the box.

 

The good bit is that it doesn't come pre-loaded! That way you won't be using Vista.
