JRA Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I was just playing WoI a few minutes ago. Anyway, this is what happened. I was assigned an intercept mission by Red Crown. I poped my F-4E to power and a minute or two later, I could already see the Mig-21's i was supposed to go hunting. I told my wingman to cover me (I wanted the kills all for myself), and I poped one Mig with an AIM-7. He blew up like what you'd expect. When I started engaging the second Mig, it was like he HAD A GOD MODE or something with him !!!! I mean, I loosed off 4 AIM-9's and my last 3 AIM-7's (one missed), AND HE STILL KEPT FLYING LIKE NOTHING HIT 'EM !!!! Is this a bug or something ??? Sure wish I had what he had... Quote
eraser_tr Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 What are your weapons realism set to? Also, it may not be entirely unrealistic, I saw a show on the gulf war interviewing an F-18 pilot who shot down a mig-21. He said it was hit my 3 missiles and he was shocked to see it was still in the air. Game wise, they may have just grazed him, I've had a few lucky hits from missiles that only knock out an aileron or rudder and I'm able to get back to base. Very rare though. Quote
Lt. James Cater Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 It happens on occasions. I've had misses using textbook setups. Also, was the Mig just flying straight and level? Or was it breaking at the last moment? Quote
+MigBuster Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Its rare but ive seen similar things in the game - and been annoyed. Premature proximity fuse not getting close to cause enough damage maybe. Quote
zmatt Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I shot up an Su-9 like that once. All 4 AIM-9s and all I got was his rudder. The vertical stabilizer was still on. I finished him off with a guns kill. Quote
JRA Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 He was level flying... I think the only turn he made was to get to his next checkpoint... Quote
