Installation of new guns,in SF2?

I have followed the KB for installation of new guns, but are unable to operate nothing!!! :no:

 

I wanted to from the beginning: :biggrin:

 

I have installed a new aircraft "MB-339A", in the zip file of this aircraft, there is a folder "defa pod", within 4 files:

 

1) MB-339_DEFAGunPod.ini

2) MB-339_DEFAGunPod.LOD

3) defa pod.bmp

4) x weapondata

 

I have turned the x weapondata in:

 

[GunData001]

TypeName=DEFA30mm (MB339)

FullName=DEFA 30mm 553 Gunpod (MB339)

ModelName=MB-339_DEFAGunPod

Mass=360.000000

Diameter=0.600000

Length=4.000000

AttachmentType=ITALY,ARGENTINA

....and I have saved it, with the name whatever.ini.

 

 

Downloaded and installed the SF2 Gun editor from here or Thirdwire,

 

start it up,

 

select my game when prompted, Then hit the Import/Merge button, then find and open up whatever.ini. This should add it to the list of guns.

 

Now hit Save!!!

 

In my C:\Users\AGOSTINO\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Guns\DEFA30mm (MB339) folder there are 2 files:

 

1) DEFA30mm (MB339).ini

2) DEFA30mm (MB339)_data.ini

 

Where should be the files:

 

MB-339_DEFAGunPod.LOD

defa pod.bmp

 

..........and after, what should I do?? :dntknw:

The following files need to be in a folder named exactly as the Gunpod's weapondata entry. That folder, in turn, needs to be inside of C:\Users\AGOSTINO\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Weapons

 

1) MB-339_DEFAGunPod.ini

2) MB-339_DEFAGunPod.LOD

3) defa pod.bmp

The following files need to be in a folder named exactly as the Gunpod's weapondata entry. That folder, in turn, needs to be inside of C:\Users\AGOSTINO\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Weapons

 

1) MB-339_DEFAGunPod.ini

2) MB-339_DEFAGunPod.LOD

3) defa pod.bmp

The confusion has arisen here because I have only put instructions down for adding an INTERNAL gun.

 

Right this is something that needs to be made clearer - a gunpod and its gun are 2 separate items

 

Add the Gunpods like normal weapons using the weapons editor.

 

 

Then as an example look at the xxx_data_ini entry for the gunpod:

Now use the guneditor to see if the above gun is in the list - if not the gun 23MM_GSH23 (for example) needs to be added using the Guneditor using the method in my guide.

The name of the gun it uses is "30MM_DEFA553", and it is not in the list of guneditor,is not in the Gundata.ini in the old objects folder in my old game (SFG), and is not in the jet, that I have downloaded, I do not have the data code for the gun!! :dntknw:

 

In the list of guneditor I have "30MM_DEFA541" and "30MM_DEFA552"!! :yes:
