Winston DoRight 3 Posted July 11, 2009 Does anyone have a spare standard TrackIR Track Clip they'd like to donate? I'm thinking there are those out there who now use the Track Clip Pro exculsively now and have little or no need for their old clip. I'm going to try to adapt one to my glasses that I wear while flying. I always wear the glasses, but seldom headphones, and it's uncomfortable for me to wear a hat indoors for extra long flight sessions. Maybe I could swap you something for it? Winston DoRight 3 Posted July 12, 2009 Well, if you could see my budget you'd understand why I can't plunk down another $15 right now for a new track clip. I just saved up for 3 months to buy Track IR! Since I'm going to cut it up to solder the pieces to a pair of eyeglasses, I'd hate to throw away $15 if I screw up. I figured that someone might have one laying around after upgrading to the Track Clip Pro. I have a good deal of stuff to swap. Anyone interested can PM me for my swap list. Winston DoRight 3 Posted July 12, 2009 ........Can't for my life figure out the backwards stagger though....... Tech support says the backward stagger of the center piece is not critical. In fact they say you can stick 3 of their self-adhesive reflective dots on your face and forehead and it'll work! Thanks to Hauksbee I won't have to resort to that! RAF_Louvert 101 Posted July 12, 2009 Winston, if you need the white reflective sticky tape I have rolls of it. We use it regularly striping ambulances and fire trucks. And it does work to simply stick a tab on each of the top outer corners of a pair of glasses and another about 2 1/2" up on your forehead, (or hair). I've tried it. Cheers! Hauksbee 103 Posted July 12, 2009 Meanwhile continue your search, and Good Luck My TrackIR seemed indifferent to the clip. Am having much better results with the Track Clip Pro. I tried to make a hat with reflectors. Used stiff white plastic strips bent at 90 deg., and had chrome Mylar reflectors. Didn't work at all. I think all three reflectors HAVE TO BE in the same plane. The concept is delightfully simple, but noit easy to replicate.
