Olham Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 (edited) Just had a dogfight with those Nupe 17 Lewis from RFC-1 again. Being THAT close behind one, he dives away. Me, I went after him (hearing Pol say in the back of my mind: there, he's doing it again!). Pulling out of his dive, I got him! But - cracks - my right wingtip was suddenly missing. The good was: it broke off AFTER the V-strut, without ripping away the aileron cables. That gave me the chance to land my damaged craft half a mile behind our lines, near an armycamp. Was it by chance, or did you devs change it a little for Olham's (and every Albatros pilot's) sake? If so: a big fat THANK YOU! I know they had breaking wings; but as some pilots still made it home, I think it's fairer this way. Edit/PS: oh, by the way - my tank ran dry in mid air, as you can see! Cameljockey Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Forgot to put gas in it again eh Olham. Don't you know you can't wean that thing? Quote
Olham Posted July 12, 2009 Author Posted July 12, 2009 Tch - you might be right, CJ - keep forgetting to check actual flight distance... Lol! Quote
Macklroy Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 On a wing and a prayer. AND you're tanks went dry! hehe. brought your 4leaf clover with ya on that mission did ya? Quote

Oh some guys have all the luck! Just lost my best pilot, Johann Stachen , last night - 12.75 hours Got into a scrap with some Se's across the lines, outnumbered 6:3 Against my new strategy, but we were escorting Hannovers and the twits flew right over tham B & Z'd them but rolling off the 3rd pullout, Crr-rack! somethin nailed me Broke off right at the wing root - BALLS!! Managed to get some semblance of control but it kicked me to the OFF Manager "Landed behind enemy lines. Captured for the Duration" Didnt even get a chance to set her down Quote
Olham Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 Tch - the best men... Sorry for you, Duce! What did you fly? With an Albatros DIII, you can turn fight with S.E.5s - that BnZ shows your rear to them too often. Yes, the manager does that sometimes, but only, when the craft becomes unflyable - so you would have crashed with it anyway. Those two seater crews are really following their orders spott on, and if they had to fly into a cloud of Camels. Wish you more luck with the next one - we keep growing that way! Quote
