SayethWhaaaa Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Is there an upper limit for the size of the .wav file when creating sound effects? I've just ripped a new helicopter engine sound, but I get silence in game. All the entries (AFAIK) are altered correctly...
Spillone104 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 For what I know there is no limit in duration. But there are limit in the format. The file must be a .Wav in PCM format and in these frequencies: 11,025 KHz, 22,050 KHz, 44,100 KHz and preferable in 8bit mono. And all can be done with the default windows sound recorder.
SayethWhaaaa Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 ...and preferable in 8bit mono. K... That's one thing I definitely haven't done. I think it's in 32bit stereo at 4400. Cheers Spillone, gonna give that a go now!
SayethWhaaaa Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 ...are there any issues with it being in 16bit format??
Fubar512 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 ...are there any issues with it being in 16bit format?? None whatsoever. All of my sound files are 16-bit, and some are 44100 hz 16-bit.
