A quick question about audio files...

Recommended Posts

Is there an upper limit for the size of the .wav file when creating sound effects? I've just ripped a new helicopter engine sound, but I get silence in game. All the entries (AFAIK) are altered correctly...

For what I know there is no limit in duration.

But there are limit in the format. The file must be a .Wav in PCM format and in these frequencies: 11,025 KHz, 22,050 KHz, 44,100 KHz and preferable in 8bit mono.

And all can be done with the default windows sound recorder.

...and preferable in 8bit mono.

K... That's one thing I definitely haven't done. I think it's in 32bit stereo at 4400. Cheers Spillone, gonna give that a go now! :good:

...are there any issues with it being in 16bit format??

None whatsoever. All of my sound files are 16-bit, and some are 44100 hz 16-bit.
