So I have been playing around with the Mirage Factory F-18A. I Merged it with the F-18E cockpit and avionics file. Renamed it all to F-18C. Gave it the APG-79 radar and the 402 engines with uprated 48900 dry thrust and 78700 wet thrust.

So my question is, with this amateurish cutnpaste am I anything close to a late block C model, or should it be called a F-18C+? And just in case anybody asks, no I am not going to release it, its just a placeholder and a bit of fun.

Cheers

Interesting, but what about differences in weight? "Charlie" is heavier than "Alpha".

Variety sources determine that the weight of the empty C/D version is around 10,450kg ~ 11,200kg

In Mirage Factory data.ini we have:

[AircraftData]

EmptyMass=12700.0

EmptyInertia=110462.56,32363.42,142825.98

...

Does it have any impact on the flight model?

Hmmm I remember F-18C and D were announced 2 years ago, hint,hint lol

Anyway I just renamed F/A-18A to C and altered starting dates, didn't want to mess with it much in anticipation of da real thing...

As for differences I honestly don't have a clue what are the external differences between A and C, but in the cockpit lower left panel for fuel and stuff is different on the C...

Well in C version added two ecm antennas just behind cockpit, and some new antennas in vertical stabilizers.

I'm messing with the F-18 model too. Trying to get the pilot not to black out in any and all steep turns. Quick question. What does Empty Inertia control?

Thanks

There is alot of things the Mirage Factory was working on that have shot in the ass since the death of bpao. We just revived the F-14 project so give us some time on that. I will see if I can revive the C/D Hornet projects from my end.
