Velvet 1 Posted July 26, 2009 Hi All, I've been tweaking my Antialiasing features on my ATX 280 card, and I've not had too much success. I'm beginning to suspect that I'm using the wrong criteria for success. I've been using my virtual cockpit view of my own aircraft as a reference. I've been looking for things like the Pup's rounded and padded windscreen to become less polygon shaped, or the SE5A's headrest to become a smooth arc instead of a polygon. No setting changes seem to effect this. I guess my question is: Does Antialiasing settings have an effect on the virtual cockpit? Thanks, Velvet
Winston DoRight 3 Posted July 26, 2009 Use your Nvidia control panel to override your AA settings for CFS3. See the topic here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=44430
+Polovski 460 Posted July 26, 2009 Hi Velvet I think you have misunderstood what standard Anti-ailiasing does. Here it does not add more polygons to models. It looks for jaggies, for example a diagonal lines made of pixels which always look bad on a computer screen unless you are at insane resolution and adds a few extra shaded ones to smooth it. It does not for example take a wheel made of a 20 sided circle and make into a wheel made of 30 sides. Also make sure you have aircraft slider on 5 in graphics settings. Velvet 1 Posted July 26, 2009 Thanks Pol, I think that's the answer I needed. I was looking for AA to smooth out modeling curves. Winston, thanks for the link.
