Dej 17 Posted July 27, 2009 Hmmm... black and white wings. I reckon that magpie's paint job is one of yours Olham. Fit a pair of Spandaus and that model airplane is toast!
Cameljockey 3 Posted July 27, 2009 The bird needs to work out more, he kept stalling out!
+Polovski 460 Posted July 27, 2009 Who said it was all about the pilot and not the craft ? ;)
Cameljockey 3 Posted July 28, 2009 I reckon it's a little different when the pilot is the craft, and vice versa.
Olham 164 Posted July 28, 2009 Dej, that was one of Allmighty's paintjobs, but I would be proud of it. We can be glad, those birds don't have Spandaus - they would shoot us up quite often, I'm afraid. CJ - I found the bird was doing very well against an accu-driven "opponent". zoomzoom 2 Posted July 28, 2009 Awesome video find Olham. That bird definately had the fighter tactic down, attacking repeatedly from six o-clock. Pretty good maneuvering as well. She must have had a nest in the area and was chasing off "percieved threats". This sometimes happens. I have also heard of Hawks being territorial and attacking rc-gliders in thermals they favor. I've known a couple of glider pilots who had Hawks act as both friends (ie fly alongside and with your plane), and aggresors, diving in and actually striking the glider from height and damaging it with talons. OvS 8 Posted July 28, 2009 If that Magpie had guns, the R/C would have been toast.
zoomzoom 2 Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) If that Magpie had guns, the R/C would have been toast. Hehe, or if he simply "latched onto" the elevator for a bit. Would definately put the Rc craft into a nasty spin! ZZ. try this one : ) or this one. And finally this one will blow your mind, I'm kinda dissapointed its all stills in sequence instead of video, but its still cool. Reminds me of an Albatros attacking a big old 2-seater!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ7cE-ydpNA&feature=fvw Edited July 28, 2009 by zoomzoom
